Children are often confused by the mirror images of left and right. When you first teach your child(ren) be sure to sit or stand along side of them such that your hands and directions are the same.

To keep an interest in teaching the directions and placement of left and right you can have your child(ren) help set your table. Also you can play a game of Simon Says using Simon says point left/right and raise your left/right hand.
