**The Aeris Resurrection** Over the internet, there is a war going on right now. Final Fantasy fans have been split into two groups: Those who believe Aeris can be raised, and those who don't. There are many people claiming to have raised Aeris. There are many wild theories out there and believe me, I have hundreds of crazy things. I hope this report makes everything clear! Now I believe you can raise Aeris. I sincerely do. I haven't raised her yet though and who knows? I could be wrong. Maybe you can't. But I do try and I have heard EVERY theory out there almost and this report will deal with the "FAKE" processes, and what I believe to be the right way. I will also put a few basic points in what I believe to be the way to raise Aeris, I am currently developing my own resurrection process, I am not done it yet though. I have jotted down a few quick notes in this report on things I believe have to be done. When I am finished writing my process I will test it out and if it works I will write another report saying how I did it. I will also deal with the Ending of FF7 that people all seem to find controversial. No one seems to understand it. I also intend to make THAT clear as well. **** The FAKE Theories on how to Raise Aeris **** **The Japanese only or the "excuse" theory: First I would like to start off with the theory that Aeris can ONLY be raised in the Japanese Version of FF7. There was originally a guy who wrote a report stating how he worked for Square soft and how Final Fantasy VII only had a Japanese Ressurection. I did some background on this guy and yes, he does work for Squaresoft. He claimed he was going against Squaresoft's orders. I have one thing to say about this: If this guy was going against Squaresoft's orders and giving away company secrets, wouldn't that man be fired?! Well, he still works for Squaresoft to this day. Now there is another guy who has a transcript posted all over the internet claiming he is this original guy but he is an imposter. His "Confession" as he called it, fooled a lot of people but there are so many background mistakes this guy has it isn't funny. He is an imposter and that is that. **The Be nice to Aeris theory: I get a hundred e-mails a day stating how if your nice to ONLY Aeris she will come back, well I am sorry but things just aren't that simple. I too have tried this and while I am convinced that this may be a PART of how to raise Aeris, this simply isn't it. **The wounded Man theory: We all know about the wounded guy in the pipe. We have all heard a million times that if we save him, he will save Aeris. Sorry but WRONG again. I don't know who started this one but this just doesn't work. It is a fake theory. Many people stated that this is the way to Raise Aeris in the Japanese Version, and that I don't know about. I don't speak Japanese, I haven't even SEEN the Japanese Version, so I don't know. I sincerely Doubt it. It just seems to easy and clean for me. **The Fish Theory: Sorry, but if you touch the fish, YOU DON'T GET TELEPORTED TO AERIS' BODY! I recieve about 20 e-mails every 3 days about this saying "Go and touch the fish!!" but NO it won't work. Also, the fish doesn't even BLOCK the way to Aeris body. Aeris' body is out in the pond. NOT down where the fish blocks! The Fish blocks the way to the WHITE MATERIA which I will talk more about later. *There are a lot more theories out there but these are the only ones really famous enough to need special recognition here in this report. **** The Ending of the Game **** Aeris is alive at the end of the game. When she dies, her body is placed into the middle of the pond and her body sinks down into a white light. Could that White Light be HOLY?! In the game, things are represented by 3 colours. Green is the Lifestream, Red is Jenova, and White is HOLY. Well, Aeris' body sinks down into a white sphere of light, Holy. What she is doing there I do not know. Maybe Aeris IS Holy, or is part of Holy, I still am not sure why she is in Holy but she is. This is even further demonstrated at the end of the game, after Cloud defeats Sephiroth for the final time. Cloud gets surrounded by a white Light and you hear Aeris' theme music in the background. You then see Aeris hand reach out for Cloud. Cloud then reaches for the hand and the hand becomes Tifa's. Hmmm.... Aeris hand is reaching out of Holy again. The White Light that blinds cloud is holy coming up. She saves Cloud by showing him where to reach for until his vision returns and he realizes he is about to fall into the LifeStream and die. Aeris just saves Cloud AGAIN. Also, at the end of the game, you see the LifeStream come up and block both Holy AND Meteor. Didn't it say earlier that the Ancients could manipulate the LifeStream? They used the power of the planet (LifeStream), they called it up. They also Show Aeris' face at the end of the game. Well, Ancients are the only people who can control the lifestream, and who is the only ancient still alive on earth (And NO, Sephiroth is NOT an ancient)? Aeris! That's right! They even show us her picture at the end. But what could all this mean? It means Aeris is ALIVE at the end of the game! How? How the hell should I know? All I know is that she is alive! Also, Cloud talks with Tifa about how he thinks he gets it, and how he will meet "her" there. He is obviously talking about Aeris. I think he Finally realizes that she is alive and well. This ending could point out two things: It could say that Aeris has always been alive and that you can't get Aeris to rejoin you because she was inside Holy and not really dead, or this could mean an entirely different thing. Maybe you can still raise Aeris but you DON'T get a differant ending. Even if you raise Aeris, this ending would still work because they show plain as day that she is alive. Squaresoft could have been pretty sneaky by doing this because then they wouldn't really by lying when they say there is only 1 ending to FF7. We all assume there would be a differant ending if we raised Aeris, and that would mean Squaresoft was lying, but this way they only have *1* ending that would still work even IF Aeris comes back to life! Oh yeah, and people DO NOT DISSAPPEAR at the end of FF7. A lot of people think that the epilauge with Red XIII shows that Holy destroyed Humans because Humans were bad for the planet. If this were true then Cloud and the party would NEVER have lived to see the outside of to Northern Crater because Holy actually throws them out, saving their lives. Also, at the very end when the Final Fantasy VII Logo appears you hear the laughter of children. People abandoned Midgar, so what? After a meteor hit a city I would abandon it too! Also, humans existed within the natural order of things. They were created normally and would not have been destroyed by Holy. Jenova did NOT exist inside the natural order of things. Holy took out both Jenova AND slightly meteor. I am not quite sure if Holy took out meteor, or if the lifestream AND holy took out meteor. **** My Theories on the Aeris Ressurrection **** As I said earlier, I believe you can raise Aeris. I have even come up with my own process but I haven't had time to test it yet. Due to serious illness I was in the hospital for a while recently and haven't had anytime to play. I am now restarting FF7 in order to test my theory out. Since redoing the game, especially with all the extra stuff I think you have to do, can take a hellishly long time to do, I will just write down my theory here in this report and be done with it. If my theory works I will re-release a NEW report saying how to do it in EXACT details. First off, as I said earlier, some people believe that you have to be nice to Aeris and she will come back. I believe that is part of it. I mean, it makes sense. Why would Aeris want to come back if you treat her like dirt all the time? I think you have to be nice to her every time you get a chance. Now, I am sure we all know you can buy the Shinra Villa at Costa Del Sol, but how many people have actually bought it? I have, and it seems pretty useless, but one thing I have learned about Squaresoft games is NOTHING is useless. Especially something that costs so much damn money. Well, if you and Aeris are going to have a new and happy life together, wouldn't you need a place to live? I think you have to buy the house as part of this, but maybe you have to buy the house while Aeris is still alive and in your party. I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it? The White Materia. As I am sure you know, the white materia is the ultimate HEALING magic. Well, I personally think that the Ultimate HEALING Materia would be able to bring someone to life. I have had people e-mail me everything from "Throw Pheonix Down into the pond where Aeris is" to have Aeris equipped with Revive Materia when she dies, but I will settle this right now. Pheonix Down and Revive Materia spells like "Life2" or "Life" do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING if you are dead. When you reach zero HP you are simply INJURED and not dead. IF all your party becomes Injured and unable to fight, then whatever you were fighting will kill you. You are not dead though. Phoenix Down and Life spells simply give you a SECOND WIND, if you will. They "un-injure" you. They don't bring you back to life. Now the white Materia fell into the water when Aeris dies. The fish now blocks the way to area where the White Materia is. I have no clue as of yet on how to get past this area and get to the White Materia. Maybe it will open by itself like it did when Aeris dies, after you fulfill certain tasks. One more thing is that you can get back into the Shinra Building when you are performing the raid on Midgar. The purpose of going back? Well, as I said earlier Squaresoft NEVER has useless things in their games. At first I thought you could Save Marlene and Aeris' adoptive mother who were being held captive by Reeve of Shinra. I believed they were held in the Shinra building and you had to talk to Aeris mother. I realized I was wrong about this at the end of the game when you see Marlene well inside a house. That house sure didn't look like the Shinra building to me. This means something else must happen, and since you only have 1 shot at it, you better not screw any thing up. I don't exactly know WHAT needs to be done in the Shinra building, but I believe it is important. The Weapons... I recieved an interesting e-mail from someone asking me what you get if you morph a weapon. I have never morphed a weapon as I find they are pretty much too damn hard to worry about morphing. The only thought on my mind is staying alive and killing the bastards. I don't know what happens if you morph emerald or ruby weapons. This probably has nothing to do with raising Aeris in the slightest, but it is an interesting thought. And who knows? You might just get lucky if you do. Just an interesting thought.... Here is something that doesn't neccesarily PROVE you can raise her, but it is strong evidence that you can. I have NEVER used a gameshark, or a strategy guide for Final Fantasy VII. I personally believe them to be cheating, and that just takes away so much from the game. But I have recieved e-mails from people saying that if you use the GameShark code to raise her, you can still see Aeris when your not in battle. If you use the code to get Sephiroth in your party, you can ONLY see him during battles, and when it comes to a point where you would see all your party, the game freezes. THIS IS BECAUSE SEPHIROTH IS NOT PROGRAMMED TO BE SEEN IN THAT AREA OF THE GAME. But you can still see Aeris if you use the code, even if you are in the Northern crater so that must mean that Aeris IS programmed to be seen in that area of the game. Sub-Quests.... How many of these are there exactly? A lot, eh? How many of these have to do with Aeris, and or make Aeris like you better for doing them? Again, a lot. Try to find out all of the sub-quests and do everyone possible. The little flower kids.... Who here remembers the little kids in the church of the slums who want to tend Aeris' flower garden? When you first talk to them they ask you if they can tend the flowers in Aeris' absence, and later on they ask where "the nice flower lady" is. These could be pointless characters, and they could mean nothing, but there is a good chance they have important roles in this. Think about it: They are in the place Aeris always hung around, they are tending HER flowers, she know's them and they know her. C'mon! Something's up with that. I don't know for sure but I just have a gut feeling they have something to do with all of this. **The End** This is not my FULL Aeris resurrection ideas, just loose notes on things I found interesting and possible plot points in the game. When I find time I will replay FF7 and try to raise her doing everything in my power. As I said earlier, maybe you can't raise her, after all, I could be wrong on this. IF I do end up raising her, expect a detailed process ASAP.
