STEP SEVEN:  GENERATE ONLINE PUBLICITY.  Many newspapers have developed online editions with email addreses for submitting guest opinion columns and letters to the editor. You can also register your political web site with the major search engines and develop reciprocal links with similar sites. Post your electronic action alerts with appropriate discussion groups, chart rooms, and bulletin board forums.

Concerned about a Cal Poly policy?  Each of the following publications accepts electronic submissions.

(1)  The Mustang Daily has an online edition at http://www.mustangdaily.calpoly.edu/ -- you can post messages to the Delphi message board and review current editorials. Email the editorial staff at editors@mustangdaily.calpoly.edu

(2)  The Cal Poly Report is published by the Communications Office every Wednesday.  The "Piece of Mind" section invites commentary on controversial campus topics.  All staff and faculty receive a copy. Send electronical submissions to polynews@polymail.calpoly.edu

(3)  If a university policy impacts the wider San Luis Obispo community, consider sending a letter to the editor to the Telegram-Tribune. Read the online edition:  www.sanluisobispo.com
