"Head" was 'A' Listed at XFM London on 6 June

There was a great p/review piece in Time Out for the band's Aquarium Club Mink (London) residency which was extended for two further dates until July 9th due to the success of these gigs.

"Fast Machine" is being used for an Alfa Romeo advert throughout Med: Europe.

"Head" was "added" on triple J in Australia (equivalent of Radio 1 over here)

Tin Star were on the 'Not the Jack Docherty Show' on Channel 5. I'll maybe get round to doing a proper review of it, who knows.

There will be a late Sept/October tour of Britain with Babybird. Tour will also include trips to Italy to promote Fast Machine a'la Alfa Romeo advert.

The advert will be aired in the Granada TV region as part of an audience response survey, before possible nationwide release.

Good reception at both V98 dates. Rain on Sun ensured capacity crowd.

5/9/98 Brussel info: The Festival comprises of 4 Stages, bill incorporates a number of bands from around the globe inc. Headrillaz & Freestylers. Tin Star are described in the programme as "dance rock, irresistable on stage. Singer Dave Tomlinson succeeds in putting emotion into techno/pop" - but we all know that already...

Human remains were found during the video shoot for 'Viva!'. The paramedic on the scene identified two sections of human spine, as well as a few other bits and pieces.

A short film (16 minutes) called 'Wonderful World' has been made, and contains music by Tin Star. It stars Neve McIntosh, and has an appearance by Dave Tomlinson at the end! It's showing in 'Virgin' cinemas. Theres a review of the film (by me) on my reviews page.

Disconnected Child is to get a full release (in UK) on 22nd February 1999.

'Head' is featured on a compilation CD 'Essential Sounds 2' being given away free with the breakfast cereals Golden/Cinnamon Grahams.

Tim Gordine has been nominated for a Grammy award for his contribution to Robbie Robertson's "Contact From The Underworld Of Redboy" album.

The Thrill Kisser is released in the US on the 9th February.

Tin Star have been breaking records in America, "with 55 stations spinning the band's single "Head", it marked the highest first week total for a debut artist for as long as R&R has had a chart."

31/1/98:
Tin Star are to support Garbage in Koln on the only German gig of their tour.

Tour of America and Germany in March and April

Disconnected Child got re-released (late, as usual) on 8th March, and only as a limited 12",
Meanwhile, The Thrill Kisser is doing well in the US, as is the tour, and Tin Star's 'Head' is the 4th most played song on rock music stations in America.

Tin Star's March 22nd concert at the Cotton Club, Atlanta, GA will be broadcast live on 99xfm, an american radio station. See http://www.99x.com.

mid 2000 - New album is only to be released in America, where Tin Star have their largest fanbase - although we love them here in the UK, the first album sold more copies in Atlanta, US, than the whole of Britain.
