What I might say for this show it says for itself. As far as Hollywood's breakthrough in educational television, this is it. Some might call it science fiction, and those people are stupid or crooked or both. Stupid, like the people who believe our government is not involved in drugs negating the fact that at the top of the pyramid are the untouchables who are beyond the reach of the law. Opposite of the Clinton's who are the targets for selective enforcement of the laws. I mean, if lying is so all darn important to our congressmen and leaders, then they should stop making a living at it. Any of us living in the shadow of the JFK assassination who have studied the facts know that X-Files is based on true stories. Some of the truths, such as aliens from outer space, may shadow greater truths that such lies were perpetrated to cover up genetic experimentation and other secret experiments. X-Files reveals all of this. Those who are in denial about the JFK assassination and the X-Files scenario's are protecting their own status quo and nothing more. They are liars whose lies have the high crimes factor that Clinton's lies surely do not. X-Files for those seeking the truth builds a common ground for communication. For those who are clueless, it provides some clues. As we move into the next millennium and human rights are threatened by the evil genius of self serving psychopaths disguised as authority figures, society must understand what is going on if we are to use what liberties and rights we have to protect our human rights for our and future generations to come. Even the police to often serve organized criminal efforts by refusing to see anything short of obvious and including a smoking gun, except when it serves their psychological needs to justify their existence or perpetrate their personal beliefs or racist beliefs. No inference that the people who comprise the police are unanimously corrupt by any means, but the system is surely faulted. Crimes against individuals are committed daily which are of a serious nature. But unless they fit some stereotype such as shoplifting or burglary they are summarily discounted. Indeed, the perpetration of crimes against individuals by systems, corporations, government agencies and so on are routinely discounted. In the event they are pursued, the ability of the individual to outlast any collective system in a court of law is negligible, resulting in almost assured lack of justice for the individual and impunity for the organisation committing the crime. Yet we must not forget that X-Files represents a police force also, and what happens to those in the policing system who refuse to stick their head in the sand and negate what is right and wrong. We see these FBI agents routinely facing threats against their lives not simply in the pursuit of ordinary criminals, but in pursuit of the criminals who work within the system. We see the powerlessness of law enforcement when powerful psychopaths knowledgeable about the National Security Establishment and wielding influence are able to threaten and destroy any attempt by law enforcement to truly uphold the laws of the land. And thus we find the root of despair and resignation within the law enforcement community that results in not only the blind eye to 90% of all crime (my estimate) but that encourages such crime to multiply as perpetrators realize success after success. X-Files is timely, and hopefully not too late. My greatest praise to perhaps the best show ever on television, the actors, directors, producers and people who make it happen.
