ART KECK 1956 - 1978 STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER DEN OFK CYS CNY RKS Posted at the FL Club: Word received that Art Keck passes away. Ollie Brunz sent the following note and article about Art. I do not know where all Art worked except for knowing he was an agent in CYS when I was manager. He then went on to be manager in Moab, UT and then manager in RKS before retiring. -Ollie Brunz ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arthur 'Art' Blaine Keck of Grover died unexpectedly July 3, 2002. Keck was born to Charles and Edith Keck on Feb. 5, 1935, in Del Norte, Colo. He grew up working on the family farm with his 11 brothers and sisters until taking a job with the Colorado Highway Department. He then worked for Frontier Airlines, where he was employed for 23 years until his retirement. He spent the last several years as a Wyoming resident, having lived in Rock Springs for 26 years and the last four years in Grover. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Does anyone remember other details about Art? Jake Lamkins (8/20/02) I never met Art but I talked to him on the phone plenty when I was in JAC the summer of 1970. Our morning flight to DEN made one stop in RKS. We were overbooked and oversold EVERY day because FL was giving free sale rights to travel agents on the JAC flights. It killed us most of the summer but we finally got it corrected. Meanwhile, we were filling the flight every morning with confirmed DEN passengers. Art would call asking who he could pull off to get his passengers on. He got upset when we said all ours were confirmed. He would demand names but we wouldn't give him any. He pulled some folks off and more often TRIED to pull folks off. It got pretty messy. He got even more upet when we dispatched the flight out of JAC direct non-stop to DEN. There was hell to pay for awhile. Finally the folks in scheduling made JAC's flight legally non-stop to DEN and gave Art and RKS folks another flight. -Jake Lamkins (9/2/02) Art was Station Manager at OFK in 1959. -Jake Lamkins (10/21/05) After Bill Kirkwood left Frontier in Rock Springs, Art Keck moved from Moab to Rock Springs. Art went back to an agent and stayed in RKS. Eli Arviusza (sp?) was moved to RKS as manager for about a year. -Roger Greenlee (7/3/13) A B KECK OFK station manager Notation says Art DOB 2/5/35 DOH 5/26/56 per the Feb 1960 FL Roster. -------------------------------------------------------------- ART KECK RKS station manager per the Jan & Jul 1970 FL telephone directories. -------------------------------------------------------------- A B KECK Station agent seniority date of 5/26/56, emp# 04849 per the Jul 1978 FL/ALEA Semiority List. -------------------------------------------------------------- He is not listed on the Jan 1979 seniority list so he left the company the latter part of 1978. -Jake Lamkins (2/17/16) FLacebook - FL Club RKS station agent/manager Art Keck's memorial webpage has been updated: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Art_Keck.html Several items added and webpage updated. -Jake Lamkins (2/17/16) I worked with Art in RKS from 10/77 to 7/78.
