Attention Pagan Children!!!!!!

If you are familiar with Girl Scouts, you know that there are certain religious awards you can win. As far as I know, there are none for Pagan children, so I decided to create one.
Now as this is not an official Girl Scout recognition, I don't think you can officially wear this recognition on your sash or vest if you are a Girl Scout, but you can wear it on the back. Your troop leader probably won't care whether you wear it on the front, either.
Even if you are not a Girl Scout, you can still win my award. Check to see which age category you fall into. Everyone, what you do it email me and tell me that you are interested. I will answer any questions you have and help you on your path to earning this recognition if you want. Be sure to ask you parents if you can do this. When you are finished, I will mail you your pin or badge. (Each age level is a different pin or badge.)
My email is fairysong@hotmail.com

Recognition Requirements

Here is what you need to do to earn each recognition. Please do emach fully and well. The point is not to hurry and get the badge or pin, but to learn as much as you can about your religion and get the most out of this experience.

IF YOU ARE OF DAISY OR BROWNIE AGE (5-8 years old) TO EARN
THE LITTLE STAR AWARD, YOU NEED TO:

1. Watch your Mommy and/or Daddy do a ritual or spell. Ask if you can take part in the ceremony. Help choose the incense, candles, and other things. Practice safety using things like candles and incense. When the ritual is over, draw a picture or write about your favorite part of it.

2. Make a nature journal. Either use a blank note book, or staple or tie together your own pieces of paper. Every day for a few weeks, draw a picture or write about what you saw in nature.

3. Help your Mommy or Daddy make a special treat for the Simple Feast. This could be cookies, cake, a special kind of bread, or anything else you like.

4. Set up a small shrine in your room or in your yard. This could include a simple drawing or statue of the Lord and Lady, and an offering bowl, and maybe some incense and calndles if you are allowed and can handle them safely. Try to find an offering to give to Them every day, like flowers, pretty leaves, or other things.

5. Try meditating. Just sit still for 2-3 minutes daily, and let your mind wander. Set up your own meditation ritual.

IF YOU ARE OF JUNIOR, CADETTE, OR SENIOR AGE(9-17), TO EARN THE SILVER MOON AWARD, YOU NEED TO:

1. Write your own ritual, including the casting of the circle, the magickal workings, and anything else you want to do. Choose your own incense, candles, and asscesories. You can do this ritual alone or with anyone else you choose.

2. Create a nature journal, like the one described above. Write or draw in it every day, showing what you have seen in nature, for a month. You may also want to record in it moon phases, tides, and anything else.

3. If you do not already have one, make yourself a book of shadows. You can decorate a regular 5 subject notebook with paper, glitter, ribbon, dried herbs and flowers, your own are, etc., or you can make it all yourself by punching holes in a great many pieces of parchment paper and tying them together with ribbon. Write at least 2 spells/rituals in your Book of Shadows. If you already have a B.o.S., or if you wish to buy yours from a store, write at least 2 new spells or rituals in it. Do at least one of the spells or rituals you have written.

4. Set up a shrine indoors or out. Put around it/on it shells, stones, bird feathers, or anything else, as well as an offering bowl and Goddess and God symbols. Make an offering to the God and Goddess every day.

5. Do research on one Pagan God or Goddess of your choice. When you have learned a lot about Him/Her, make a poster, write a story, or add a spot to your homepage (if you have one) about Him/Her.

6. Find at least 3 crafts crafts with a Pagan/Nature Theme. Write them down in your book of shadows, or just in your Nature journal. Try one of these crafts. You can keep it, or give it as a gift. Practice the Pagan Ways (like thanking a plant after taking a part of it for a craft, etc.) while doing this.

Email me when you start thinking about doing this, and you can ask me whatever you want, and I'll know that you're doing it. When you are done, email me and tell me the address I should send the badge or pin to. Be sure to ask your parents first, though.
