Comments
The Gungarlin River is a small river best suited to light fly tackle. The stream varies between 1 to 3 m wide and between ankle and waist deep. The fish are small but aggressive, averaging between 4 and 9 inches long, with the occasional legal sized (10"+) fish. Although small these fish will strike dry flies readily and sometimes it is hard to have a fly on the water without getting stuck. Without any trees near the water it is refreshing to be able to back cast without the having to take too much care. Not the place to go if you judge your fish by size or you are hungry, but worth a look if you just enjoy being there.
