Cool For August, The Feelers
Powerstation, Auckland, June 24 1997
By John Russell
Playing support tonight was Christchurch trio, the Feelers. Contrary to
their earlier incarnation, these days the Feelers sound like a formulaic
melting pot made up of every other Bush / Nirvana wannabe I've heard
defacing the world of rock 'n' roll. Their thrashy, angsty power-chord pop
songs, though undeniably catchy, are ultimately spiritless, and the Feelers
'new' approach makes them seem like yet another cog in the machine.
