Thank you for your interest in The Iams Company and our products.
Ethoxyquin has been used to preserve pet, livestock and human foods for more than 35 years. All controlled, scientific studies prove that ethoxyquin, used at proper levels, is a safe, effective preservative. However, we are constantly researching new preservatives, and we recently found an equally
effective, innovative way to formulate our over-the-counter foods in the Eukanuba and Iams product lines without ethoxyquin.
The preservative system uses a special blend of mixed tocopherels, citric acid, lecithin, mono and diglycerides and rosemary extract. With this new system, there is no change in shelf life.
Our mission has always been and will continue to be to enhance the well-being of dogs and cats. We are deeply committed to that mission.
If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to write us back or you may call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-525-4267.
