In Loving Memory

Brandy

July 10, 1988 ~ June 13, 2002

My Brandy was a wonderful and loving companion. She was my baby from the first time I saw her coming out of the chicken coop. She couldn't give enough kisses. She went with me everywhere. She had a lot of problems and we went through many vet visits. But she was so special. Smart as can be. Wasn't any thing that I ask of her that she wouldn't do and then some. I miss all the little things that wouldn't mean anything to any one but me. Such as her waiting for a pat on the head after we went to bed and the light went out. As if to see if I was still there. The moaning and growning back and forth between us. Silly little things such as that. The little games that she made up. Picking a toy that she hadn't played with in months. Giving kisses when told. I miss her in the back yard just hanging out or helping me weed the flower beds. Playing ball. I'll miss you most when Christmas comes and you won't be here to open your Ta Ta presents. Camping and playing in the Big Water. My husband and I took a trip to the U.P. in July and we were so lost without her. She was a big part of our trips and our lives. She shared our lives for almost 14 years. I love and miss her. I will meet her at Rainbow Bridge one day. Then we can do all the things we used to do.

I miss and love you Brandy,

Mom

Our Brandy,

I remember driving to see you and your brothers and sisters one day. We arrived at a house and talked to the man there about the pups for sale. He took us to a chicken coop. We told him we were looking for a female puppy. We sat on the ground as he took you and your sisters out for us to see. You were so little. Just a fuzz ball waddling towards us. You were all so cute but there was something about you. You just waddled up to us and we knew you were the one. We paid the man and took you home. You were so good as a pup. We never knew that day that you would become such a big and important part of our lives. You began to grow and it seemed like you just knew what to do. We hardly had to train you at all. There were some bads times like when we found out you had hip dysplasia at three years old but we all made it over that hurdle and your other hip at five years. Brandy it was the hardest thing we ever did to have to have you put down. You were so crippled and you had to be in a lot of pain but you never showed it. We just couldn't let you go girl. I'm sitting here now looking at your picture and thinking how fast the time with you went. I so wish you were here now. We miss you so much. We will have another dog, but we will never have another you. Wait for us at the bridge girl. We will be together again.

I Love You... Dad

Never easy to say goodbye

It is never easy to say goodbye when they speak to us with their eyes. When their bodies are tired and old, when the love that we've shared becomes pure gold. The measure of friendship is put to the test, when the showing is finished and it's time to rest. From deep in their hearts their eyes will ask, please ease my pain, your most difficult task. There is joy in the memories, treasure them all, winning a ribbon or chasing a ball. So go now, you're free, to run and to play, where the sun always shines, day after day. For the master you serve now is gracious and fair, and he'll love you and guide you until I am there.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
