1 C. sugar1/2 C. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 C. yellow cornmeal
1 1/2 C. flour
3 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 C. milk

1. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat well.
2. Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add alternately with milk.
3. Pour into a greased and floured 9 X 13 pan.
Bake at 375 F for 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick
comes out clean.
