Keeping    Secrets:       Chapter    One

It was a warm sunny afternoon in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dazia had just got off the school bus, and she ran home happy that the week was almost over with. She saw her boyfriend of almost two years standing in front of their house with a sad look on his face. "Why are you so gloomy?" Dazia asked. "Your mom and dad said we are moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma." Andy said sadly. "When?" she asked. "In a week don't tell your mom and dad I told you, I was supposed to let them tell you." he answered her. "Okay, you have my word." Dazia said sweetly. Dazia went upstairs to her and Andy's room, *Author's note: Andy lives with Dazia and her parents, but my boyfriend doesn't live with me!* and put in her "Snowed In" CD. She laid there and thought about life in Tulsa. At first, she was sad about leaving her friends especially Jennalee. *I'd feel the same way with my friends Amy, Chioma, and Ashley.* Her thoughts were interrupted by her mom walking in on her favorite song "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" *Yeah I know I'm getting annoying, but that's my fave song, too!* "Dazia, I have something to tell you." Mrs. Childers said. "Yeah, mom what is it?" Dazia said as she turned the CD down. "Dazia, I don't know how to tell you this. We're moving to Oklahoma, Tulsa to be exact." She answered. "Mom, you know better than to joke around about something like that." Dazia said as she looked at her mom. "Dazi, I'm not kidding." her mom said wondering why Dazia thought she was joking. "Well, how soon are we leaving?" Dazia asked trying to get as much information as possible from her mom. "Your father and I are leaving the day after tomorrow, but your father, Andy, and I have decided you, Erin, and Andy can stay for a week after we leave." her mom replied. "When should I start packing?" Dazia asked. "Well, as soon as possible , so we can ship it off, our new neighbors have offered to fix up the house." her mom said hoping it was the last question. "Do you know who they are?" Dazia asked. "I think your father said their last name is Hanson." her mom answered. "Did you say Hanson?" Dazia asked, getting excited. "Yeah, I think so, Dazi don't get too excited." her mom replied looking at her daughter. "Okay, mom, I'll start packing." Dazia said happily. "Okay, hon, I'll get Andy to come get you when dinner is ready." Mrs. Childers said as she walked out of the room. Dazia turned the CD back up and started to pack. ~Either I'm truly insane or mom just said that THE Taylor Hanson is gonna be one of our new next door neighbors.~ Dazia thought. As if on cue, Andy came in and put his arms around Dazia. "I can't believe were moving, I have lived in this house since I was born, I'm really gonna miss it." Dazia said still packing her stuff. "I don't care where we live as long as I'm with you." Andy said as he buried his face in her neck. "Oh, Andrew, you are such a sweetie." Dazia said as turned around to face him and give him a quick peck. "Mom told me to come get you cause dinner is ready." Andy said after she kissed him. "Okay, Andy, I'll be down in second." Dazia said as Andy left the room. They ate dinner, watched some TV, and Dazia went to take her shower. "Dazi, why are you to bed so early?" Andy asked wor- ried about his girlfriend. "It's ten 'o clock, and I have long day ahead of me." Dazia answered sensing the worriedness in Andy's voice. "Okay, sweetie, I'll come to bed soon." Andy said. "Night, Andy." Dazia called to him as he walked down the stairs. As soon as Dazia got in the room, she turned "Three Car Garage" on random play, and went straight to sleep.
