GARY ALLAN'S "NO JUDGEMENT DAY"
Gary Allan's "No Judgement Day" has taken on a life of it's own according to Waco,TX. From the first time it was played on radio it really hit nerves with Texans. This song is actually a true story. A 70yr old shop owner was robbed and beatin to death by three kids in Crosby,TX. His wife found him dead on the freezer floor. That's all I'll tell you about it just incase you haven't bought the cd titled "It Would Be You." I can tell you this much though,it will make tears come to your eyes and make you ask alot of "why's." Gary hid this tract right after "Gone,But Not Forgotten." The tract # is [11]04:15. This song has really opened some folks eyes. We really have to pay more attention to our children. And believe me,this is not just a problem with children in poverty. This is affecting children of all backgrounds. Until this song I didn't realize how I needed to communicate with my children more often. We now sit in a circle before bedtime and talk about how our day has went and what we could have done differently if we had a bad day. And my three kids are ages 9,6,and 4 yrs old. Parenting is not a natural thing. It's all a learning process. Taking parenting classes is great and I'm even going to do it but a parent can't learn everything from books or tapes. Some things have to be learned by experience. Y'all,we have to stop rushing our children into adulthood so early. This is causing so much stress for our children. What do even we do as adults under stress? We break down! This is what's happening to our children today. Where do I get such ideas from? I get them from reading a book called "The Hurried Child," Growing Up Too Fast Too Soon by David Elkind. Of course this don't substitute good old fashion learning by mistakes but who wants the mistake to possibly be one that can't be undone? I want to be the best parent that I possibly can for my children. I want them to be able to trust me enough to be able to come to me for anything! That is my ultimate goal. That should be all of our ultimate goals. And believe me,I know it's harder for some than others. I am one of those others myself. Not because I'm a bad parent but because first off I had no structure in my life as a child. My mom and dad done what they were taught by their parents and so on. Number two is I had my first child at the age of only 2months of being 18. Third of all my oldest son has attention deficit/hyper disorder. So you could imagine the caos in my life until this point in my life. Gary has bravely confronted this problem with our children these days. It's not just one or two things making these kids into the killers that they are becoming. There are many factors involved in the whole thing. Gary singing about this towns loss will hopefully open the eyes of some parents who may be having trouble with their child. Maybe it will make them realize that if they don't get help for their child that Gary's song and this Texas towns story could turn into their own personal story. I thank you Mr.Gary Allan for making me realize just how much responsibility that I have as a parent!! I am truely sorry for the loss of this town too! Please don't ever think that it couldn't happen to you.
