Illustrious Founders of Sigma Gamma Rho

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., was founded on November 12, 1922 at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Butler University, a predominately white school, seven elegant school teachers decided to creat an organization that was founded on three princples Scholarship, Service and Sisterhood. On December 30, 1929, Sigma Gamma Rho was incorporated as a national collegiate sorority when the Alpha Chapter was granted at Butler University.
