OFFICER DAN SEELY

Officer Dan Seely went to a residence on 10/26/96 in an outlying area
of the city to serve a misdemeanor domestic violence related warrant
on an adult. The suspect fled the residence upon Seelys arrival. Seely
entered the home, after broadcasting word that the suspect had fled.
The suspect then returned to the residence. A few moments before his
backup arrived, Officer Seely chased the suspect down the hall of the
residence, and was shot in the forehead at point blank range with a
.44Mag. The suspect then chased his family to a nearby house, where he
shot and killed his 2 small children, a 5 year old boy, and a 3 year
old girl (as she was in the arms of her mother), wounded his wife,
then killed himself. Officer Seely had been a Police Officer for 10
years. Officer Seely left a new wife and an unborn son.
