HOW DO I GET HELP?

Whether or not you are in immediate danger, call 911. Officers will respond as quickly as possible.

It would be helpful if you were prepared to give the following information to the Officers when they arrive:

  • Your name, address and phone number
  • Your relationship to the suspect
  • Name, address and phone numbers of any witnesses
  • Describe the incident as completely and accurately as possible
  • Describe any injuries, even if they are not clearly visible
  • List any weapons or objects used in the assault
  • Any history of abuse
  • Any warrants pending against the suspect, and any restraining/court orders in effect
  • If seeking temporary shelter, give address and phone number, and the name of a contact person should they need to contact you at a later time
  • If there are visible injuries, PLEASE permit them to photograph your injuries, and be prepared to have additional photographs taken a few days later
