I can't believe it has been a whole week since I have written in here. Yobo's car has been in the shop the whole week. That has meant I have had to catch rides to work on his days off, drive Joey to work and pick him up (He told me he worked til 11:00 last night. I got there at 11:01. At 11:30 he came out and told me he as about another 3o minutes of work to do. It was another 45 minutes. We finally got home at 12:30.), and all other kinds of inconvenient things. I hate this.

Jai had her first track meet Thursday. Perryville won over Octarara by a score of 107 - 21 (they took 15 out of 17 events). Jai had to pull out of her 200 meter dash because of her asthma. It was very windy and cold and it made it much harder for her to fun, even after using her inhaler.

The fourth and fifth grade chorus and the faculty and staff of the school where I work put on a play every year. I have a small part in the play this year. We had our first practice at the high school on Thursday evening (we have been practicing at the elementary school every week.) We have two more practices on stage on Monday and Tuesday and the play is Wednesday. If this things comes off without a hitch, it will be a miracle. Will keep you posted. Keep the faith ;)

Another stressful day. Yobo's car was up at the technical school getting fixed and they couldn't finish the job. They couldn't get his brakes bled down correctly. He didn't want to let it sit there all weekend, so we went up and got enough brakes going that he could drive it home. Now it has to be taken to the shop so they can finish the job. Timothy's eye was swollen almost all the way shut yesterday morning, but did look better when I got home from work. He spent the night over a friend's house, so I don't know how it looks today. The kid that did this to him didn't have the nerve to show his face at our house yesterday. I think it was because Yobo was home and he was scared to. I wish I wasn't one of those people who eats when they are stressed out. I have been eating Oreos. I just feel like giving up sometimes. I don't know what's wrong. Sometimes it just seems like an impossible journey. I lost 50 pounds and have kept it off for quite some time. Why can't I just get my butt in gear and lose the rest of this weight. I could really use some inspiration here. Keep the faith (I'm sure having a hard time doing it these days!)

Well, the saga continues. Timothy was over the neighbor's riding a go-cart when the neighbor decided it was a good idea to throw one of those orange cones up in the air. The damn thing came down and hit poor Timothy on the side of his face. He already has a black eye and it is really swollen. The doctor said he doesn't have a concussion or any broken bones. He did tell me to keep him home from school tomorrow. He also said it will probably swell more overnight and the whole side of his face will end up black and blue. When I found out I yelled at the kid and his only excuse was that it wasn't a full size cone, but one of the small ones. It will do no good to go talk to the mother about this because she thinks her son can go no wrong and somehow in her feeble little mind this will all be Timothy's fault just for being there. This is not another 12-year-old like Timothy. This is a 6'3" 16 year old. The kid just doesn't think. On the weight loss front, nothing is happening. I'm no loosing any and heavens only knows if I have gained this week because I was so sick with a migraine that I didn't make it to WW last night. I just want my life to get back on an even keel for a change. At times like this I feel like such an inadequate mother. What am I doing wrong that all these things keep happening to Timothy. He has had stitches 5 times, a broken collar bone and now this. The doctor said all this is normal, but I just don't know. My parents raised 4 kids and I sprained my ankle when I was 7 and my brother broke his collar bone when he was 13. Neither of the other two even had stitches. All of my kids have either had stitches or a broken bone. BRING ON THE CALGON!!! Keep the faith ;)

Well, the Sherrif's Patrol came Saturday. We have to keep the dogs inside or on a leash at all times for the next 10 days. They can't be around other dogs or other people. Someone from the health department is also supposed to come look at the dogs. If they aren't sick after 10 days, I have to call the health officer and let him/her know. Timothy, meanwhile, is doing fine. I asked him if he wanted to get rid of the dogs, and he became very upset. There is no way he wants to give up those dogs. Of course, if they had bitten him on purpose, there would be no question; those dogs would have been out of here. They go to get neutered on 5 Apr. Hopefully that will calm them down some. They are constantly running through the house.

We had snow all day yesterday. Today our schools opened 2 hours late. It was real hard to get up and go to work when counties all around us were closed for the day. We were one of the few counties open in this state today. At least that is one less day we will have to make up. Saturday Jai and I went to the track. I walked 2 miles while Jai ran sprints and did exercises. It was funny to see her running backwards on the track and up the hill on the one side of the track. I also went up the hill every other round. (Let me explain. The track is down at the bottom of a hil and the bleacher are built up the side of the hill. I would go up the hill, behind the bleachers and down the other side. That added a little extra to my workout. Keep the faith ;)

Had a most unusual day and evening yesterday. First got a call at work during lunch yesterday that Timothy was sick. Went and picked him up from school and brought him home. By then his dad had gotten back home so went back to work. After being sick all afternoon, Timothy felt better and even managed to keep some supper down. He slept most of the evening and at 11 I woke him and told him to go up to bed. He went to the front of the livingroom and was holding one of the puppies (they are 9 months old). Suddenly they started fighting and Timothy was in the middle. I was concerned about his face and jumped into the fray. After getting the dogs apart, found that Timothy had a pretty good slice on his wrist. Took him to the hospital and he now has six stitches. That is the 5th time that poor child has had stitches. Now I am waiting for the cops to come back. They came a few minutes ago, but I was in the shower. It is customary for them to come after a dog bite. They had to go to the neighbors after their dog bit Timothy. Yes, that is the second time he has had stitches due to a dog bite. If it weren't for bad luck, the poor kid would have no luck at all. I just wish things would settle down and my life would take on a more even keel. Still checking in on Dad every day. He pneumonia is gone, but he is still having trouble with his emphysema. Keep the faith ;)

A quick update on the little girl who was struck by the car. She is still in the hospital and will be transferred to Kennedy Krieger for about a week. She is having trouble talking and with her fine motor skills. They are expecting a full recovery. Not much else to report. Have been struggling with my weight loss. Have been so sick and tired. I think I need about a week off, but want to save my leave in case I get really sick as I only have 5 days. This is my first year as an instructional assistant. As a sub, I never got any leave. If I took a day off, I just didn't get paid. Keep the faith ;)
Wed, 10 Mar
What a day. School started 2 hours late because of snow. On Wednesdays the elementary schools in our county get out at 2:00, with special education students getting out 1/2 hour earlier. School started at 11:00, I went to lunch at 11:15, got back and we fed the kids at 12:00, changed diapers, and put the kids on the bus. Then I helped the teacher with some stuff til 3:30. Got home, made up a shopping list and went to BJs. Got home at 6:00 and still had to unload and put groceries away. Got done at about 6:40, to late to go to WW. I hate shopping on Wednesdays for that very reason, but the cupboards were so bad that I couldn't put it off til tomorrow. The poor kids wouldn't have had anything for their lunches otherwise. I made one of the kids in my class cry today. I was feeding her lunch and she thought it would be fun to spit her food on me. When I told her she was rude, she started pouting and whining, and looking at the teacher. The teacher told her she was a bad girl, so she looked at me again and then started crying. I just ignored her and after about 2 minutes she stopped and finished eating her meal. I know she sometimes drops food out of her mouth when I am feeding her, but when it flies 8" through the air and lands on my shirt and she starts laughing, that is not an accident. The main trouble is she is really cute and people who don't work with her don't realize what a spoiled brat she can be. She will do things like pinch you or wipe her drool on your arm when you are fastening the straps on the chest guard of her wheelchair. I feel bad that I made her cry, but we just can't let her get away with it because if we don't say anything we know from experience that she will be twice as bad tomorrow. Oh well, such is life. Keep the faith ;)

Have had a horrible week so far. Found out yesterday that a first-grade girl was hit by a car while walking home from school Friday. She was flown out to Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is getting better, but is still in the hospital. Then one of the aides had to be taken to the hospital because she was dizzy and sick and almost passed out. Come to find out she had an inner ear infection. She is home on two days bedrest. What else can go wrong? Will keep you posted on how the little girl is getting on. Keep the faith ;)
Sat, 6 Mar
My oldest son, Joey, turned 17 today. He started a job as a dishwasher at the Golden Corral last night. He came home soaking wet. He worked from 4:30 - 9:30 last night, from 7 - 4:30 today and from 9 - 4:30 tomorrow. He put in applications all over the place and is hoping Acme calls him before to long. I was going to take Jai up to the track and walk while she ran, but it was raining almost all day. I have spent most of the day cleaning and doing laundry. I don't mind washing the clothes, it is the folding them that I hate. The cleaning isn't to bad, except that the dogs run through the house and make a mess as fast as I can clean it up. I worked up a sweat running the vaccuum. I still get tired easily after being sick. I can't wait til I feel completely well. Keep the faith ;)
Thurs, 4 Mar
Went to WW last night. Gained 2.6 pounds. Guess that is what feeling crappy can do for you. I plan on turning that around this week. Wish me luck. Keep the faith ;)
Tues, 2 Mar
Jai did pretty good at track practice. She said she only had trouble when they went outside in the cold and wind. Of course, it won't always be that cold and windy. I didn't get up and walk this morning. Yobo has a bad cold and it is affecting his asthma. He was wheezing last and every time he stopped I would wake up. I am so used to listening for Timothy that I just kept it up with my husband. I really sounded bad and I was worried about him. Then when it was time to get up, I was just too dang tired. Almost couldn't get up when it was time to get ready for work. I am proud of myself even though I didn't get up and walk. There was a baby shower at the school today for one of the teachers and I didn't eat anything. They had all kinds of things (steamed shrimp, cheeses, salads, cake, chips, peanuts and veggies). Of course, the veggies would have been okay, but I was afraid I would get up there and not be able to stop. I wasn't hungry, so I decided that the best thing was just not to go up there. I also drank over 2 quarts of water and the evening isn't over yet. That's enough for today. Keep the faith ;)
Mon, 1 Mar
Another month and another new start. It is 4:06 pm and so far I have drunk 2 quarts of water. Hopefully I can keep this up for the whole month. I have had a good day to far. Not sure what I'll be fixing for supper cause I'm not sure what Yobo got out of the freezer. Jai started practicing for track today. I am waiting for her to call for me to come pick her up from school. She has exercised-induced asthma, so I hope she does okay. The dr said as long as she used her inhaler about 20 minutes for participating in track she should be okay. She was very excited about this. She has talked about running track since she was in elementary school. Will let you know how she does. Keep the faith ;)
