That evening the Hansons and Samantha's family, the Davises, had a cookout. the rest of the evening they played Nintendo. At last they retired for the night. Samantha went to bed thinking about how lucky she was. She was going to be spending two whole weeks with the Hansons. She also thought she was in love with Taylor, or at least really liked him a lot. She thought Zac was a little bit too wired and too young for her and Ike was more like a best friend--really not crush material. She went to bed with Taylor's face imprinted on her closed eyes and a smile on her face. Zac was asleep dreaming a wonderful dream about being one of the plastic figures in the game CandyLand (TM). He was getting to go to Mother Gingerbread's house and the Licorice King was right around the bend. Ike was troubled. He knew by the way that Sam starred at Tay that she had a crush on him. It was almost always that way. Almost everybody loved Tay. Those who didn't liked Zac. He thought Zac was probably good looking from a girls point of view, but he couldn't comprehend why girls wanted to marry him or anything. I mean his wife would have to be checked into a mental institution, padded walls, a straight jacket, the whole nine yards. He would drive her crazy! He himself had a little crush on Sam, but he knew it was hopeless. She'd follow Tay around like a lost puppy. Meanwhile Taylor was having trouble sleeping. He was worried--mostly about Samantha and a little about someone walking in and hearing him snore. He thought she was really nice and all, but when he was playing Nintendo he looked over and saw her staring at him with glazed eyes, the look he got from thousands of female fans. The next step was actually drooling. He enjoyed the fame, but he was begining to think that the only reason albums were selling were that girls wanted it because they thought he was cute, not because they actually liked the music. He was worried that this was going to end with people's feelings hurt. He liked Sam as a friend but nothing else. He was about to fall asleep when he noticed Ike who was laying next to him was awake. "Hey Ike, can I talk to you privatly?" Taylor asked "Sure, how about the bathroom?"Ike whispered back. Taylor nodded as he silently leapt over Zac's unconscious body. "So what did you want to talk about little bro?" "Well, I sort of have this problem with Sam." This was not what Ike wanted to talk about. "Maybe you should just leave her alone, ignore her. I mean it's not like you guys could go out with our schedule." Even though they were talking about different things it made sense both ways so Taylor said he'd try to ignore her, but he didn't want to hurt her feelings. With that they both crept back into her room.
