Tay's stomach felt like someone was twisting it around and for good reasons for this. First he was sitting in the front car of the Talon XL-200 at Oak Ridge. The Davises and the Hansons had made the 6 hour trip from Lexington to Deer Park, Ohio the day before. The idea of taking the trip was to go to Oak Ridge, an amusement park, and spend the whole day there. They stayed at a nearby hotel the night before and they all got up early in the morning. It was about one in the afternoon. Samantha and the older boys had split up and the adults had taken the younger children to ride the young children's rides and make sure that they behaved well. From the moment he saw it Taylor did not want to ride the Talon, the biggest, tallest, fastest roller coaster around when--it--was--built, but he didn't want to be wimp. He was a bit annoyed that Samantha and Ike insisted that they go on it right after lunch. Tay could handle that. He just had to really concentrate on not regurgitating his lunch. Then Samantha decided she wanted to sit by Taylor since there were only two per seat. Ike had wanted to sit by Samantha, but Taylor didn't care just as long as he was sitting next to one of his brothers. They argued for a while and then Ike lost, so Taylor was squashed next to Samantha and the bar had already gone down, locking them in. The announcer was telling them to keep their arms and hands inside the car at all times. Then to Taylor's horror she said that on a clear day, like that day, at the top, you could sometimes see all the way across Lake Erie to a little chunk of Canada. That made him want to upchuck. When they went over the top Taylor held his breath and closed his eyes. After he got over the first hill they went over another medium sized hill then couple of bunny hills, and then it was over. "I don't see what the big hype about that is. Once you get over the first two hills it's boring? Isn't supposed to be scary?" Taylor asked. "I guess it's just that the first hill is so big, I wasn't very impressed either the first time I rode it," Samantha confessed. While they were waiting in line for Top Thrill, an inverted roller coaster, Taylor finally analyzed the discussion about seats, lover of Freud that he was. He realized that Samantha loved him, but he wasn't even interested in her. He also realized that Ike liked her, but she didn't even notice him as guy, just a really good friend.
