Chapter Ten

Zac
				    Chapter Ten
Long Lost Relatives That pinch Your Cheeks
"It's all set up, we're staying with Great Aunt Ada. She lives with her
daughter. Apperantly her grandson, who lives in the country, made a trip in to
visit his folks." Ike explained.
"Great, more realtives to pinch your cheeeks and tell you how much
you've grown."
"Come on Zac, at least try to be polite, they are letting us have a place
to stay."
"Fine, I'll be civilized. Hey look here comes Tay, he doesn't look very
good."
	"I hope nothing made happened."
	"Pesimist."
Taylor came over to us looking like he was going to collapse. He had
been crying, judging from the red marks on his face.
"She, she doesn't remember me. She remembers everyone but me. she
remmebrs you guys, but not me. The nurse said it's called selective amnesia.
Anyways she wants to see you guys."
"Oh Taylor, I'm sorry." Ike said, tryinmg to console him.
"I said that she wants to see you," he repeated with fury flashinf on his
usually calm face.
"You guys go ahead," Ike instructed,|" I'll be there in a minute."
I went down the hall with Taylor, wondering what exactly Ike was
doind. I told Taylor our arrangments. He groaned and said he'dd rather stay
with Callie. We walked in to her room. She still looked bad, but some color
had come into her formerly pale cheeks.
	"Zac!" she squealed.
"Callie, you know you don't have to scream like that. I've already had
enough bizarro fans screaming at us that I've almost gone deaf in my left ear.
The last thing we neeed is for our friends to start screaming when they see
us."
"Sorry, it's just nice to see a familiar face in the middle of all this
chaos."
I saw her cringe, knowing that her remark didn't help Taylor at all.
Then Ike walked in. He went over and gave her a litttle hug. Apparently he
had stopped to get the newspaper he was reading earlier. He sat down next to
the bed and unfolded it. The front page had a picture from the cover of
Middle of Nowhere on it. He put it infront of her face.
"Do you rememeber everyone in the picture?' he asked.
"No, I can't remember the one in the middle," she said shaking her
head.
"That's our middle brother, Taylor." he explained, pointing to Taylor.
"yeah, he told me that. I just can't remember anything about him before
the shooting. It's like someone took white out and put it on all the memories I
had of him."
"What do you think caused that?"
	"I don't know. I haven't the faintest idea."
"Well Zac and I are going to our great aunts to stay. Taylor wants to
stay with you? Is that okay, you and him were really close and he's really
concerned about you."
"I don't mind as long as he doesn't.'
"It's fine with me," Taylor piped up,"I don't mind sleeping in one of
those chairs, if I get any sleep at all."
"Well Zac and I have to get going."
Ike and I headed toward Aunt Ada's which was only a couple of blocks
from the hospital. Before we left Ike left some money with Tay so he could
buy some snacks and we promised Taylor and Callie that we would be back
to visit them tomorrow.
When we reached Aunt Ada's she was standing there with the door
open wide. She mentioned how much Ike had growm, Ike at almost six foot
towered over her at five foot two inches. Then she pinched my cheeks
remarking how cute I was. This was almost, if not more annoying as all the
screaming fans. She told us how we were so incredibly lucky that we weren't
hurt when we were kidnapped and how she had been praying for us and all
that other realtive crap. We were also blessed by having our second cousin
come into town. She led us into the living room and called for Jacob, her
grandson, to come and meet us. It was a good thing that I was soitting down
when our "cousin from the country" came in beacuse I would have fallen
over. I was shocked, appaled, I almost fainted. Jake, one of our kidnappers,
was related to us.
