				   Chapter Fourteen
				   Sin With a Cleaver
I woke up in the middle of the night to the screeching of the door to our
room opening. I looked over and saw Ike snoring besdie me. The shadow in
the door was tall and donnned what looked like a huge knife. I screamed. It
was the kind of scream that shattered galss. The shadow droppped the knife
and it made a dulll thud on the mauve pink carpet. Moments later Aunt Ada
turned on the light and saw Jake standing there, a huge cleaver on the flooor
near his feet.
"Jake, you were planning on killing them weren't you?" Sometimes I
think Aunt Ada isn't with it. Of course he was going to killl us!!!
"Yes, alright, I didn't think it was fair that they got away for killling
Sam.
"Josh," she callled her son-in-law,"Call the police now, we can't wait
till the morning. Jake tried to kill them."
The police arrrived in their fancy Crown Victoria's. I was still not quite
awake yet when I was questioned about what happpened. I told them my
side, adding in Ike's white lie so Taylor wouldn't be hurt and then Ike was
questioned. The police determined that Taylor's shooting of Sam was in self-
defense and didn't press charges. They decided that Sam was going to be
charged with kidnappping and atttempted murder. I felt sorry for him as he
was taken away with handcuffs and a solumn look on his face.
I couldn't sleep so Ike and I decided to go to the hospital since it was
almost eight by the time we were done with police bust work. I had a bagel
with cream cheese and Ike gulped down orange juice before we headed to the
hospital. Our parents had been called and were told to meet us there.
Callie and Taylor were laughing when we walked into the room.
"You guys seem to have had a fun night."
"Guess what!?! Callie got her memory back." Taylor squeled.
"That's wonderful, you won't believe what happened to us."
As I told the story both of their eyes became the size of platters and
their mouths hung open. I was about to aske them how they were when my
parents came in and I was smothered by my mothers hug, She was exstatic to
see us. She got a turn at all of us, even Callie while Mackie ran around
mimicing her. Dad just stood there looking proud. We were havinga lovly
family reunion when Callie's family came in too. They were terribly upset that
she was hurt, even her brother Jay seemed somewhat concerned. They told us
that they had arranged to take Callie back to the hospital in Tulsa in the back
of our van, though we had to take the back seat out. In my opinion this should
have been the end of the story, yet the story threads ae still being spun.
