Chapter Eighteen

Zac
				Chapter Eighteen
				       The Fall
I sat in Ike's car staring out the window fuming. I had heard the whole
"I'm so glad your taking Zac so he's out of my business" conversation. As the
days passed Ike and Taylor seemed closer than ever. I was like the cast away
doll, too old and ragged to play with. I needed a new family, new friends, a
new life, in a new time. How I wish I could have new life, to purge myself of
the old one.
	"Come on Zac we're here."
I climbed out of the car and walked into Laser Quest, which normally
made me really hyper, this time I felt terrible, lonely and forelorn.
"Zac, what's the matter, you seem down?"
"Nothing I'm just a little tired."
"Do you want to go home? You look a little sick."
"No, I'm fine." After I said that I regretted that for the world seemed to
shift and go out of focus momentarily. When I came back into focus I
followed Ike inside and we got out color coated arrows then we played video
games, waiting for our time slot to be called.
Our color, green, was called about twenty others besides Ike and I
congregated to enter the place where we get our lasers and say that whimpy
pledge. I got my suit on, yet I still felt like a bar of lead was inside me.
"I promise to do my best and fight for myself.." I hate saying that
pledge everytime I come here. At last we were set free. I was pissed and I
was determined to get Ike. I ran around in the smokey mist with my laser gun
ready. I caught up with Ike and was about to shoot him when I triped and
started to fall into him. Then again the world blured and came back into
focus. the problem with this was whn I cam back into fucus I fell into a pile of
dirt, the bright sunlight stung my eyes. I was laying at the feet of Billy the
Kid. I had fallen through time.
