Taylor Chapter Nineteen Renaissance I held the necklace in my hand, my heart shattered. I had to have a rebirth, a renaissance. I had to rebuild my life, with out Callie in it. I had blown it, ruined it, totally messed up Callie's life and mine. I felt so terribly guilty. I couldn't stand to wait for a ride so I started back on the long trek to my house. I knew I would be in trouble, but at this point I didn't give a damn. I was hurt and I needed to be alone. I slowly walked, slipping the necklace into my pocket. I wasn't scared, after all I was a mature fourteen year old. It wasn't until I noticed the the sound of footsteps behind me that I got frightened. The sound of the shoes hitting the wet pavement stirred feeling of terror inside me. I just hunched down in my jacket and prayed that everything would be alright. I kept walking as the footsteps got closer. When I could feel hot air being breathing down my neck I felt the firm hand on my shoulder. I stopped and turned around. I sat there staring at a beautiful young girl with tears streaming down her pale face, her feature were crumpled from crying, it took me a moment to realize this delicate angel was Callie. "I...I, what do you want?" I asked. "I feel so bad, I didn't want to hurt you, but this just wasn't working out but I felt like something had been, I don't know killed inside me. I still love you, it's just I don't know, I still want to be friends with you, you're my best friend, I didn't mean for it to be this way," she sobbed. "I know, it wasn't meant to be. Maybe someday when we're older we can persue something together, but not know, I still love you as a friend though." "Me too." "Would you still keep this?" I asked as I took the necklace out of my pocket. "Yes,' she whispered as I clipped the clasp together and let it fall down gently into place on her neck. I hugged her tight as she hugged back. I kissed her gently on the nape of her nack and then she left. Parting to go on our own separate ways in life. Walking down down to two different highways of life. The End Note to readers: Now if you are an intelligent reader you would have noticed the pattern of the point of view the chapters follow. Callie, Zac, Taylor, and Ike. You may be wondering why Ike doesn't end it. In truth he does, the problem is that this last chapter is really a preview to my next story, which is about Zac's adventures with Billy the Kid.
