The girls were hysteric
The women too
They all felt pricks and pins and witches trying to chew
True or False the judge couldn’t tell which
Certainly the accused was making them twitch
It happened over and over again
Most were women though some were men
The youngest was four accused of this crime
8 months in jail was her horrible time
Chained to a wall
On an unbearable cement floor
All at the age of only four
Terrible inspections were to take place
Just because her family had fallen from grace
The family that condemned her was named Putnam
That hated her family and helped create this sham
Her mother was one of the first
Victims of the act practiced and rehearsed
The two ring leaders of this scam
One, Abigail Williams
The other of course was a Putnam
Ann was her name
She was hysteric with fright
They caused all fame
The family caused the fight
But don’t forget the elders in their mystical whim
The caused the hysteria in their saintliness and sin
Obsessed with getting to heaven they molded the girls
No fun or emotional relief no fanciful whirls
I guess it’s there fault but everyone’s to blame
They caused a four year old excruciating pain
It never should have happened but now that it has
We mustn't forget the terrible past
This poem is dedicated to those who suffered and died during the Salem
Village witch hunt hysteria. ~ Kessy
