Usher In General: Usher!!! Usher is one of my favorites! -- Usher Raymond, the 18 year old R&B phenom is back with his 2nd album. He has already scored 1 hit off the album with "You Make Me Wanna" which peaked at #7 on the Hitlist 40.
The Help: Usher gives some of the success to one Jermaine Dupri who lent a hand on some of the tracks. Dupri is just one of the high-profile collaborators that Usher brought in on this album. Some notables were Babyface, Teddy Riley and L.A. Reid. Lil' Kim, Monica and Dupri also perform on some songs.
The Album: However, the album also bears the creative fingerprint of Usher as the singer co-wrote most of the album tracks and named the effort "My Way" to allude his input. Of course, Usher is well aware that another singer, Frank Sinatra already has a strong connection to that title. "Well, he did it his way" Usher told MTV News. "Frank did it his way. He's seen the girls, he's been around the world, and that also stuck a little thing in my mind. When I first seen the title 'My Father...My Godfather', Ben Vereen, he was like showing to me saying "You should listen to this". So I was like 'My Way', thats a fly little name and now I need to find a song that'll fit my way and tell a story (600 QuickTime), so I put it out there and L.A. (Reid) thought it was a Hot Song. He put it on the album and before you know it, that was the name of the album.
The Future: Usher has a new single out by the title of "Nice And Slow". Which peaked at #1 on the Billboard singles chart. Usher will be around for a long time to come.
