Thandie's latest film, Bernardo Bertolucci's "Besieged" (L'Assedio) it will open in limited release on May 21st. The current edition of E!'s "Coming Attractions" shows the preview and it looks awesome. There's an official site (in French though). Thandie is officialy at work on "Mission Impossible 2" Opposite Tom Cruise. This is her highest budgeted project so far.

OCTOBER:

-Thandie appears on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" accompanied by co-stars Danny Glover, Kimberly Elise, Oprah, director Jonathan Demme and the mind behind "Beloved" author Toni Morrison.

-Film critic Todd McCarthy says of Thandie's performance "But the prize part is the title role, and Newton walks away with the movie. Modelishly beautiful, she chills the heart with her animalistic wheezing and growling, unpredictable movements, the off-center set of her teeth and mouth, the odd drift of her eyes. -The upcoming release of "Beloved" on October 16th sparks a commotion in the media.

-It was reported on Reuters that Thandie is the sure bet candidate to play opposite Tom Cruise in the sequel to "Mission Impossible"
