Despite becoming a rookie at 30 years of age, Keith hit .321 in 1995!! He recieved the Joe Burke Award, given to a player who has done better than what was expected. He earned Royals player of the month in May of 1996. He attended Oral Roberts College. He was acquired by the Braves along with Michael Tucker from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for OF Jermaine Dye and P Jamie Walker.

1999: Keith's playing time was limited this year with the addition of second baseman Bret Boone. Keith was excellent off the bench however, having the Braves' highest pinch-hitting average.
