General Info

Tom Glavine is personally my favorite Brave. He is a great pitcher, plus a great person off the field. Tom won the 1991 Cy Young award, the 1995 World Series MVP Award (he is only the 5th pitcher in history to pitch a one-hitter in the World Series), he won the Silver Slugger award given to the league's best hitting pitcher in 1998 and was the Braves' Roberto Clemente Award winner in 1997, given to the player on each team who gives the most off the field to charities and things. Tom got his 150th win in July 1997. He also signed a contract worth $40 million over 5 years, which signs him through 2002. Tom has been with the Braves his whole career, since midseason 1987. His ERA was the league's 3rd highest in 1998, and he led the league in wins.

1999: Tom struggled more than usual this year, getting off to his worst start since 1989. But he rounded out the year well on a 3-game winning streak and won more than 10 games for the 11th time in his career.
