There are elements associated with life.  They include Water, Earth, Fire 

and Wind.  Also there is the element of Spirit.  These five elements are 

represented in the pentagram.

The human form and the earth are mostly composed of water.  Blood is mostly
 
water.  The oceans cover most of the Earth.

The Earth is the birthplace of human and other life.

Fire is the spark of consciousness.

Wind is represented by the heavens and by breathing.

Spirit is the soul, an our thought processes that make the other elements work
 together.

Mother Earth

Mother Earth is associated with birth and death, the coming of spring, the
 
growth of seeds, foods that nourish us, trees from which we fashion 

shelter, animals and all other forms of life on this planet.  She accepts
 
the rain that nourishes and cleanses our bodies.

She is the portend of disaster in earthquakes and the reclaimer of
 
untended civilization. As we plant seeds so do we plant our dead, 

the souls of both will arise again. But that we fail to see the evidence
 
of human rebirth through interactions on another plane gives most fear.
