Description:
The bass is the largest and deepest voice of recorders available in
ABS plastic. It is F fingered with a general range of the first F
below Middle C to G'' (two octaves above Middle C.) Size and weight
of differing models vary dramatically. Most basses sport a bocal
(much like as is seen on the bassoon,) hovever a few models incorporate
the bent-neck design. Both types are pictured on this page.
The bass is almost always keyed in several places, and, ironically, requires
less of a finger spread than does the tenor.
