Editoiral: A debate on US DBZ Vs. the Real DBZ>

The following is a discussion I had with a friend of mine recently. Vegeta is a good freind from school and a DBZ fan so. Read on for a debate on a controversy that affects us all.Thanx to Vegeta for the great conversation and the permission to post it on my site. I also put up parts of the conversation not realtin to the debate. Thought you would like to see what goes through me and my friend's mind. Some comments are kinda funny.

Vegeta1214: who is son goku Jr.

JSTORM12: what do you mean in the series

Vegeta1214: ya

JSTORM12: he is Pan's grandson

Vegeta1214: oh

Vegeta1214: than who is pans son/dauter

JSTORM12: they never mentioned

JSTORM12: you just know of her grandson who is Goku's great grandson

JSTORM12: hey you know the firts fansub guy i ordered from he carries the live action DB movie

Vegeta1214: do u ever see pans son

Vegeta1214: wow

JSTORM12: I don't believe so

JSTORM12: shoudl I order the live action movie to see how weird it is

Vegeta1214: ya

Vegeta1214: is it subtitled

JSTORM12: I am not sure

Vegeta1214: u sould get it anyways

JSTORM12: Yea it has to be really funny

JSTORM12: how do they get Goku's hair

Vegeta1214: i donno,,,hair spray,?

JSTORM12: Think about it would takre a few punds of the stuff

JSTORM12: oh well hey what our the two characters you want a profile of in my site

Vegeta1214: tien, yamcha

Vegeta1214: or any one else u want

JSTORM12: ok got it Tenshinhan and Yamcha

JSTORM12: getting info on them

Vegeta1214: and mr popo

JSTORM12: Yea everyone loves Mr Popo

Vegeta1214: and that cat...coran or somthing like that

Vegeta1214: coran is sweet

Vegeta1214: he grows the senzu beans,,,,you have to like coran

JSTORM12: yep its gonna be hard to get info on him though

JSTORM12: DO you know the URL fo that anime search engine

Vegeta1214: go to funimation

Vegeta1214: no

JSTORM12: Tenshinhan and Yamcha might be easier

JSTORM12: ok i can't see funimation s site I need a better browser

JSTORM12: I saw it at my aunts though nice site

JSTORM12: I was quite impressed

Vegeta1214: at funimtion, and the ultimate dbz , will have lots of imformation

JSTORM12: yea theuy just have Freezer, SOn Goku and Buruma

Vegeta1214: the ultimat dbz site is great,,,it has lots of detail about the goku vs tienshenha fight

Vegeta1214: have u look at the son goku

JSTORM12: a little

Vegeta1214: it tells you EVERYTHING he has ever done.in db and dbz

Vegeta1214: well almost everything

JSTORM12: I know

Vegeta1214: but very detailed

JSTORM12: I think I am gonna order a Dragion Ball fansub next

Vegeta1214: i read about the fight with tien and goku in db

JSTORM12: yea I saw flashback footage of it

Vegeta1214: and at funiamtion i learned a little about tien JSTORM12: Yea

Vegeta1214: well than u sould go to a pinanere or magma site

JSTORM12: Yea

JSTORM12: actually VIz is doing a good job on the manga

Vegeta1214: ya

JSTORM12: I mean really don't watch the dub anymore

Vegeta1214: i do

JSTORM12: I can't really watch it without feeling frusterated at how shortchanged the entire US is

Vegeta1214: i still like it,,,,i dont care about how its been changed,,,i just like what i see

Vegeta1214: the fighting is great, the music is good, and the vocies are sweet (all but the new episodes)

JSTORM12: yea but the music is so uninspired, the fighting has all the real well fight cut out

JSTORM12: they can't ven say death

Vegeta1214: so,,its still a great show,,,try to stop thinking what u are missing and just think of what you are getting

Vegeta1214: you should like what you get,,,or else we would not even know what dragonballz was

JSTORM12: yea crap there are only 3 good voice actors, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Yamcha and the only one hte reminds me of the real vocie is Yamcha

JSTORM12: I thank then for getting me into the show

JSTORM12: but I hate them for butchering my beloved show

Vegeta1214: so,,mike,,,,let me ask you this,,,and when you answer dont think about the orignal show.......do you like the fighting?

JSTORM12: Yea

Vegeta1214: do you like the plot and adventers they have

JSTORM12: in the US DBZ

Vegeta1214: its the same thing

Vegeta1214: they dont change the plot or the sagas

JSTORM12: yea but tis skewed

JSTORM12: it the same basic thing but its crapified

JSTORM12: the plot is dumbed down

Vegeta1214: ok,,then whats the problem? you like the show alot even before you knew of the orgainal and how they are different

JSTORM12: yea but then I saw the orignal

JSTORM12: its two different shows one is something to be guilty about being a teenager and one is to be a proud outspoken fan of

JSTORM12: the censorship is ridicolus if 3 year old Japanease kids can handle it why can't US kids

JSTORM12: here read this little interview

Vegeta1214: so,,,,,then you should still like the US,,,,,this just means that the origanal is bettter,,,,you should not hate somehting you like before just because something else is better

JSTORM12: I don'y hate I can't really stand it

JSTORM12: its just so ridicoulos its kiddy show in the US

Vegeta1214: thats the only way they can show it

JSTORM12: look at the process for the US show and tell me if you see some big problems with the Big F

JSTORM12: why is it the only way it can be shown

Vegeta1214: let me read the stuff

JSTORM12: OK

JSTORM12: but tell me why can't we show ti in the US

JSTORM12: what do you think

Vegeta1214: i think the guy from funimation is right....if you are going to show dbz on a childerens program,,you have to ediet some of it

JSTORM12: Ahem lets me run this by you its uncut Japanease form is SHOWN STAURDAY MORNING IN JAPAN ahem isn't that children's prgramming

JSTORM12: so why couldn't a US kid see what a Japanease kid see

Vegeta1214: ok, mike but thoses kid go to school, 12 hours 6 days a week,,,they need a good show,,or else the stress would build up and they would kill there parents

JSTORM12: LOL Bill so your saying US kids don't deal with a lot of stress why still why can't a US kidhandle it

Vegeta1214: well if kid our age have come to shcool killing kids, they have watched the same stuff we have( and thats not a lot of violance) we have not proven our self to watch the show uncencered

JSTORM12: TV has no effect on a kid its a tragedy yes but this kid wasn't normal and its a shame stuff like DBZ could get assoicated or blamed on something so awful Vegeta1214: yes it is,,,still, have you ever seen stuff like fist of the north star.....that movie will make your hair go white

JSTORM12: yea I agree that is to heavy to show on US tv b/c of cultural differences buyt DBZ is so minor and it really shows the cobsequences of death

Vegeta1214: but fox saterday morring cartoons are different than cartoon networks cartoons

Vegeta1214: they never say "the next dimension" on fox JSTORM12: yea you poitnt out an inconstency that should be my argument your for the DUB stop

Vegeta1214: no,,the dub is great.....if the US can become as freakin smart as the japanease regarding cartoons, then we can get un cut dbz

JSTORM12: yea but you are contradcting yourself

Vegeta1214: and once the show becomes real popular they will show it on other networks, and better networks were they can show DUBBED and uncut dbz

JSTORM12: That can't happen major netqorks woudl equal heavy FCC regualtions and it is very popular

Vegeta1214: well as long as they have good fights, i will allways like american dbz (all but the new episodes)

JSTORM12: OK

Vegeta1214: i kinda like the idea of the next dimension

Vegeta1214: even when you say it, it sounds cool

Vegeta1214: like "i am going to send you to the next dimatsion" lol
