HOLIDAYS

Hanover will be observing the remaining holidays for 2022:

Ongoing problems with our web host for our legacy web site www.EmpowerCompany.com is causing us to migrate to our new web site sooner than planned. Meantime, you can usually still find what you need at EmpowerCompany.com, and if not, try www.HanoverTechnical.com. And if that fails, please email or give us a call. We are determined to SERVE!

We apologize to our good customers for not using email to keep them as up to date as we normally do! But Verizon has been a pain in the royal butt as of late. For example, we recently experienced a failure of our toll free phone number. We started sending email notices to our customers to call our backup number.

Verizon bounced that back as ... SPAM! Yet, a few days later, we got an email FROM Verizon touting their FIOS product. Can we get FIOS in our locale? Of course not. Now THAT's SPAM!

Hanover is participating in the Relay for Life effort at Dominion Virginia Power's Surry Nuclear Power Station by offering a one-time contribution that will match our last year's contribution. We are an RFL Gold Sponsor. We urge every company to support the Relay for Life in your area. It's a cause we can live with!

This area experienced a power failure of several hours duration today. Within minutes, Hanover switched to our standby power generator. Meantime, our UPS units kept things running more or less smoothly. We did experience some temporary loss of fax and email service. If you placed an order that afternoon and have not heard back from us, please feel free to check and see that we got your order. Thanks as always for allowing us to serve you!

Fax and Internet Outages - We've been plagued with loss of fax, modem and DSL for the last day and a half. Verizon discovered that the lines had crossed in an on-premises conduit and rewired. Very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers. And especially to the Coast Guard! Our dead fax line drove them nuts (us too!)

Hanover is participating in the Relay for Life effort at Dominion Virginia Power's Surry Nuclear Power Station by offering modest matching funds for ALL contributions made directly by the station employees (up to a limit, of course!). We urge every company to support the Relay for Life in your area. It's a cause we can live with!

Email Issues - We had unresolveable problems getting emails that were addressed to our @empowercompany.com addresses. NameSecure finally had to throw their hands up and said "uncle". Please use our hanover@visi.net address for all email correspondence.

Thanks to Verizon cutting thru it's own fiber optic cable earlier today, we were without phone, fax, modem and DSL service for about half a day or more. Can you hear me now?

IN MEMORIAM - ROGER CHABLOZ
Don Lovett worked for Roger but for a brief time while at American High Voltage Test Systems. Roger, President of American, was a good man and an even better administrator. He will be missed by all who knew him!

Down but not out - On Sept. 1, 2006 Tropical Storm Ernesto took down the power system in our area. 10 inches of rain fell. The winds blew branches and a few trees hither. Roads were flooded. One of our staff was rear-ended just down the road (unhurt, thankfully) But, thanks to a strong battery (no pun intended) of UPS systems and a barely adequate standby generator, we stayed up and running all day long. ALL orders that were phoned or faxed or emailed to us were processed and made it out the door that day! And we now have a more robust (not our favorite word, but appropriate) UPS system and a new and bigger generator now, too. We're here for you. Thanks for your patience with us on that somewhat trying day!
