This group was started after a good friend of our's had graphics she had made using Paint Shop Pro and her mouse stolen from her site, and altered by other's making graphics on the web.
Over the course of several weeks, her accaintences continued to find graphics she had made being used by other's who had altered them and included them in their own graphic collection sites as "their original work".
A WELL-KNOWN graphic site took two OTHER well known graphic artist's backgrounds, removed their "colors" from them, then re-colored them using her "own" colors. Yet this woman claims they are "her" creations!
Another web site was found where the owner took several WELL-KNOWN graphic artist sites and combined their work and called the graphics "her own", and offers these graphic combinations for others to use on their homepages!
We have decided NOT to mention the sites NAMES. If you surf the web for graphics enough you will run into these person's and if you KNOW your favorite graphic artists work and style it will be OBVIOUS that they are the ORIGINAL creator's, not the people who stole them!
This group supports every GRAPHIC ARTIST that does HONEST work! Sharing this personal story only helps to bring awareness to this on going problem on the web ~ and that we have "popular" graphic artists who are STEALING other graphic artists work and calling them their own!
