Hanson    Encounters

Hanson Concert at Toronto!

When my friends and I arrived at the Molson Amphitheatre (where Hanson were playing) we started freaking out-the crowd was SO LOUD we were positive that Hanson were already on stage. We got to our seats, which were only FIVE rows away from Ike, Taylor and Zac. They weren't on stage, everyone was just screaming with excitment. The opening band, Admiral Twin, played for about half an hour. They are from Tulsa, just like Hanson. They were alright, but of course I wish Hanson would have played instead of them. After Admiral Twin finished,it took half an hour to get the stage ready for Hanson! I couldn't stand the wait! I was screaming as loud as I could, along with everyone else. When the curtain lifted, there was more noise than I've never heard in my entire life. You have probably heard how Hanson concerts are SO loud, but you wouldn't believe it until you are there. They began playing a cover version of an old song, Gimme Some Lovin'. The next song was Thinking of You, then Where's The Love. They played 20 songs altogether, including MMMBop, Weird, River, Man from Milwaukee, I Will Come To You, With You In Your Dreams, Stories, Sometimes and many, MANY more, including some brand-new ones. My favourite part of the concert was when Taylor left the keyboard, ran over to Zac, kicked him off the drums, and then, TAYLOR started banging away! Zac started running around the stage while Ike left his guitar to play on Taylor's keyboard. They all switched!! It was SO cool. Another good part, Taylor and Zac left the stage (not that that is good or anything...) and Isaac did a solo! It was "More Than Anything" from their first album, Boomerang, and SO amazing! He was very soulful and the crowd went WILD!!! Taylor reached down to touch some lucky fans, Zac gave away his drumsticks to a little girl at the end, the three guys sprayed their fans with water, then threw the waterbottles into the audience. The concert was such a thrill! They made it so much fun for everyone. Tay, Ike and Zac talked between songs, it was cool to hear the voices, but hard to understand what they were saying because of all the screams. One amazing part was when my friends and I were holding up our ENORMOUS "WE LOVE HANSON" sign and Taylor POINTED at it and SMILED!!!!! WOW!!!!!Taylor had his hair in a loose pony-tail which eventually fell out at the end, and was wearing a green top which he TOOK OFF. There was a tight white t-shirt underneath. Ike had his hair down, but halfway through he put it in a pony-tail. I guess it was too hot to leave down. Ike moved around the stage a lot, and at the very end he jumped off the platform Zac's drums were on and landed on his shins. Zac was hard to see behind his drums, but he was wearing tight jeans and his hair down. His voice is so deep! I thought he was Taylor when he first started to talk. I had the best night of my life at the Hanson concert!!I would to anything to have them come to Toronto again. Sonya
