Chapter 3

So what if Carla couldn’t kiss? I thought to myself. We had some nice conversation about the movie. Then again, was I kidding myself? It wasn’t as if we had that much in common at all. Anything we did have in common was forced. You know, it’s not really something we have in common, just sorta something in common. She loves chocolate covered pretzels, for example. Well, I like chocolate and I like pretzels, but not together. We sort of had that in common, but it was really a stretch. I called Taylor.

“John, what’s up?” Tay asked.

“Uh, not much, what did you do tonight?” I asked Taylor.

“Nothing. I sat home, nothing. I didn’t do anything. You went out with Carla tonight, right?” Tay asked me.

“Yeah, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” I said.

“Shoot, what happened?”

“Well, the night went pretty well, we had some nice conversation. I mean, I guess it was nice. It was okay, yeah,”

“Oh kay, so?”

“She’s an awful kisser dude,”

“Aw man! That’s not good,”

“I know,” I replied, “But, what do I do?”

“Do you really like her?” Tay asked.

“No, not really,” I said.

“Well, then go for her twin, maybe she knows how to kiss!”

We laughed at that.

“Just kidding,” Tay said, “If you don’t like her, don’t make yourself like her, bad kissers suck dude.”

We laughed again, bad kissers suck.

“Tay, are you sleepy?” I asked him.

“Heheh, yeah, I guess I’ve been out and about too much, did the advice help ya any?” Tay let out a yawn.

“Yeah, I’m finding another woman.”

“Good, see ya later.”

“Bye,” I replied.

Wait, Tay had been up and about too much? And he did nothing? I laughed and shook my head, the boy must have been pretty tired. I took my shoes off and went into bed. I fell asleep pretty fast. I guess I was tired too.

Taylor:

I woke up at 9 am. I wanted to have extra time to get ready for Angie. I missed her. I hadn’t seen her since Friday night. I went and showered. I tried to think of sweet things to do for Angie today while I was in the shower. I guess I felt sorta bad about the other night and Candice. I know nothing happened, but I did feel guilty. The best thing I could think of was to take her shopping. All girls like clothes, and hey, I truthfully wouldn’t mind being dragged around that mall all day, especially of I got to be with Angel. I dried off and looked through my closet for a nice outfit. I settled with brown corduroys and a white t-shirt. I combed my hair and went down for some breakfast.

It was only 10:30 when I finished that, so I called Angie to see if it would be all right if I came earlier.

“Hello?” She answered.

“Hey baby,”

“Hi Tay, what’s up? You’re still coming right?”

“Oh yeah, I’m going to come. I was just wondering, would you be ready if I came at 11?”

“Uh, yeah, I can be ready by then,”

“Cool,”

“Where are we going?”

“I figured we could start out at the mall, I can spoil you, how’s that sound?”

“I love you Taylor,” she laughed.

“I love you too. See ya soon,” I smiled.

“I’ll be waiting, bye,”

“Bye Angel.”

It only took ten minutes to get to her house, but I left anyway after the phone call. I figured I’d wander around aimlessly, and take the long way there.

Even with my wandering though, I was ten minutes early. I rang the doorbell, she answered it very fast.

“You’re early, but I told you I’d be waiting,” Angie said as she jumped into my arms outside and shut the front door behind her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and we began to kiss. I think she read my mind. After a minute, I pulled away and smiled at her.

“Hi,” I said.

She smiled back and I took her hand as we walked to my car.

I pulled out of the driveway and turned the radio on.

“Now today Angie,” I started, “Today is your day, I want to pamper you all day.”

“Taylor! You’re such a sweetheart, but what about you? I want to pamper you too,” Angie responded.

“Angie, just being with you makes me happy, nothing more,”

“Just being with you makes me happy too Tay,” She leaned over and kissed my cheek then put her hand on my knee.

I parked by Macy*s, a great spot if I do say so myself. I always had to get the best parking spot. It was just something that always happened. It was now a streak, I never got a bad spot.

“Nice parking spot,” Angie commented.

“Thank you,” I smiled at my small triumph then grabbed her hand as we walked in.

“Where shall we stop first?” I asked, “Victoria’s Secret or maybe Victoria’s Secret?”

“Taylor!” Angela sort of whined as she pushed my shoulder slightly and smiled, “Victoria’s Secret is all the way on the other side of the mall! We’ve got to at least shop in Macy*s, Wild Pair, Claire’s, and Strawberries before we get there!”

I laughed at her and agreed. She went through the juniors section at Macy*s picking up loads of clothes to try on. I, of course, picked out a few things for her to try on there too. You know, a skirt or two, nice, conservative stuff.

“Here you go Angel, a few items I think would look nice on you,” I told her as I handed her the hangers.

She smiled then started to look at the clothes, “This is nice,” She flipped through a purple cardigan, “I like this too, and this- Taylor!” She scolded me.

“Yes?” I asked in an innocent tone, I knew what I did.

“Don’t you think this might be a little....little?” She asked me, holding up the size 8 girls size skirt, “Not to mention hideous?” She laughed.

“Yeah, I guess they should only stick to one color of polka dots, huh?” I answered and put the misplaced skirt back on the wrong rack.

“Okay, well, I’m going to try this all on, you can wait here and I’ll come out to show you something after I try it on,” She told me, I sat on the bench outside the dressing room. How I wished at that moment that the dressing rooms were joint male-female. Oh well, I sighed and waited for her to return.

She came out wearing a short silver dress. She looked so sexy! It had a plunging neckline, but it wasn’t indecent at all. It was tight, but on her it looked classic. Her legs looked great too, her legs always looked great.

“Wow,” I got out.

“You like it?” She asked curiously looking down at her dress and running her hands down her hips and off. She looked up at me to make sure I meant it.

I walked over to her and put my hands on her waist and looked her in the eye, “You’ve got to get this dress,” I smiled then lightly embraced her lips in mine. She kissed me back, then smiled.

“Okay, I think I’ll get the dress.”

It was a pretty expensive dress, $125, but it looked so great on her, and hey, when your me, I mean, money just isn’t an issue. I bought her a few other tops and bottoms in Macy*s and in Strawberries and a pair of silver shoes with straps that wrapped around her legs up to her calf to match the dress. They made the dress even better.

We stopped for a quick bite to eat in the food court, but soon after found our way to a great store- Victoria’s Secret. In all truthfulness, I’d never been inside a Victoria’s Secret before so this was a first. I think it actually made me feel uncomfortable though. Women stuff everywhere, women everywhere, I felt sort of out of place. I stayed close to Angie, I didn’t exactly feel like wondering through the store alone, you could really lose direction there if you know what I mean. After Angela picked out about 10 bras with matching underwear, she finally went to the dressing room. I didn’t want to wait outside, but that’s where I ended up. She promised to hurry though and when she finally came out of the dressing room again, she had only 3 of the sets that she wanted. I gladly bought them for her and got out of the store. I wanted to get out of the mall too, it was making me sick to be shopping for so long. I wanted to be with Angie face to face, no clothing racks between us.

“I know a really nice park we could go to.. I mean, it’s such a nice day, we wouldn’t want to miss that,” I hinted.

She took the hint and agreed, “Yeah, that sounds like a really good idea.”

When we got to the park, there were a few other people there, but the place was so big- it was fantastic. It’s the kind of place where you can have a picnic under a maple tree and there may be 50 other people doing the same thing, but you won’t be bothered by any of them.

We walked to the far end of the park to a weeping willow. It seemed like we had walked miles from where I parked the car, even though it wasn’t even half of a mile. We sat under the tree and reclined against it’s trunk.

“Mmm, I’m tired!” Angie said.

“Yeah, I am too,” I agreed.

“Shopping will do that to you,” She continued.

“I guess so.”

I turned from my reclining position to look at Angela. I didn’t say anything, I just looked at her beautiful face. She didn’t say anything either, she only stared back. When she looked away, I looked away too, still not a word. Then she got up, I looked to where she was sitting and she surprised me from the back side of the tree by tapping on my opposite shoulder. She giggled. I laughed back, “you little!”

“Peekaboo?” She said so cutely.

I turned over to her behind the tree and kissed her. A long heated kiss. When it ended I looked at her, she smiled at me and grabbed the back of my neck and pulled my kiss back to her. I didn’t mind that at all. She slipped my jacket off and I began kissing her now atop of her. I unbuttoned her cardigan to reveal a white lace bra. I kissed her neck and her chest and she held my back. She then began to explore her hands, she slipped them into the back of my pants onto my butt. She slid her hands now to the front of my pants and I let out a small moan. But she soon retracted her hands and her kiss leaving me a little disappointed.

“Is something wrong?” I asked her.

“I don’t know. I love you Taylor, but I’d rather not do this here.”

“You want to do this?” I was making sure I heard her right, sometimes that sounds too good to be true.

“Of course I want to do this! Don’t you?” She looked over at me.

“Yeah!” I couldn’t help but show my full enthusiasm on the subject.

She reclined on the tree again. I stayed sitting up, she’d left me at a rather awkward moment.

She paused, then looked over at me and said, “Then let’s do it!”

I looked at her, my eyes opened wider to see if she was serious. I couldn’t tell, “do you mean that?”

“Yeah, I do.”

I think my face began to redden when I asked her, “When?”

“Tommorrow night,” She said. Tomorrow? The anticipation would kill me until then, but I shook my head in agreement, “Make reservations at the Marriot? I’ll meet you there at 8 pm tomorrow.”

“Ok.” I swallowed, that was all I could get out.

“I think I should go home now though because I told my parent’s I’d help them out with dinner,” She said, getting up.

“All right, I’ll take you home.”

After I dropped her off at home, I didn’t go back home. I went to the pharmacy, to get the, uh, necessities. I walked up and down the aisles looking for the condoms. I found them in the third aisle. There were so many of them, I didn’t know which ones to get. I looked at the shelves, was one brand better than the other? I was so startled when a hand came from behind me and took a box off the shelf. I turned to see what that was, before I saw her face, I heard her cute voice say, “I like these best.”
