Taylor's Surprise

“YeAH GUys, let’s uh party!” Taylor started to blush. His voice cracked!!

“Well, I think it’s safe to say that Tay’s going through puberty!” Isaac joked.

We laughed. One of our neighborhood friends then said, “Well, at least it just started and you didn't have trouble with recording the album!”

“RIGHT!” Zac said sarcastically, then proceeded to run toward me while yelling out a wild eep! We crashed onto the couch and laughed about it while Taylor told about how his voice changed WHILE they were recording the album!

We sat around and listened to the new album that they had a copy of. It wasn’t going to be released until early May. It was April. MMMBop was going to be released soon. I couldn’t wait. The album sounded so great. I thought their other two albums were spectacular, but on Middle Of Nowhere all the songs were just really wonderful, I couldn’t pick a favorite! I loved them all. The album was sure to sell, I could already tell.

After we listened to the entire cd over and over 3 times through, it was time to say good night. I didn’t want them to leave, I mean, I hadn’t seen them in so long. Zac and I decided that we would meet at LaserQuest the next morning though. I couldn’t wait, I went to sleep with MMMBop stuck in my head.

The next morning, after getting dressed, I rushed over to LaserQuest. We played only one round of Car Chase, in which I won, and then went off to play in the treehouse. It seemed like it had been so long ago that I had last climbed the ladder up the treehouse, with Zac at least. It was a good feeling to see Zac sitting across from me on the floor. We sat up there and talked a little, then we did the normal- we said nothing and waited for one of us to break the silence with a great idea of what we should do next.

“So, you in the mood for ICE CREAM?” Zac’s eyes became wide.

“When am I not?” I replied and started down the ladder.

“I SCREAM you SCREAM we all SCREAM for ICE CREAM! YEAH!” Zac shouted as we went into the house. We made sundaes with our favorite flavor, chocolate. We topped it with rich chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, and of course chocolate sprinkles for the full chocolate effect! We went to sit at the table to eat it. Zac got some chocolate syrup on his arm, so he took the liberty to wipe it on me! I wiped it back on him. We then stopped in silence. We exchanged glances and then it was on, CHOCOLATE FIGHT! Zac ran for the syrup, squirted it all over my shirt and then threw sprinkles on me! I ran for the ice cream and scooped some into his hair. Then I tackled him to try to get the syrup. It didn’t do me any good, even though I was only an inch and a half shorter than him, I couldn’t get that syrup. New approach. I got another scoop of ice cream and got it down his shirt! He shrieked at the cold and dropped the syrup which I retrieved and proceeded to squirt all over him. At this point, the floor was covered in chocolate. Chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and ice cream!

“ZAC!” I said urgently.

“What?” He stopped and asked.

We were on the floor, covered in chocolate. “I think I hear someone.”

We hear steps, someone’s coming down the stairs.

“Uh, um....” Zac stutters.

We both dash for the paper towels and a mop. Of course, I slipped in a puddle of chocolate ice cream and knocked Zac down! When we were finally able to get up and grab some paper towels, the mystery footsteps had reached the kitchen. It was Ike.

“Holy cow!” Isaac said amazed looking down at the floor then back at us and at the floor again, “What happened here?”

“Ike! Don’t tell mom, we’ll clean up. See?” Zac says while he and I demonstrate by wiping up some of the sticky mess.

“Mom’s going to be home in 15 minutes, you think you can clean it up by then? I doubt that. She’s going to see this and I’m not going to take the wrap for this guys,” Isaac says crossing his arms across his chest.

“Well, maybe if you helped us Ike?” I asked in a minuscule voice. Zac looked up at Ike hopefully.

Isaac glances at my pouting face, pauses, then replies, “Aw man..... I guess I’ll help, but only because Samantha is sweet and I don’t want her to get in trouble. Zac, you owe me one!”

“Okay, okay, I owe you one,” Zac said, and I smiled.

We all managed to clean up the entire mess in ten minutes. Zac and I ran up to their room and locked the door. Just in time too, Diana came home that very instant. We laughed at the mess we’d just gotten ourselves out of. There was just one question left in our minds...........what were we going to do about our clothes?
