TERRILL
Hezekiah Terrill was born in 1801 in Virginia. He was an early settler in the area of Kentucky which includes Morgan and Wolfe Counties. Family tradition says he died and is buried in Wolfe County. Hezekiah md Emily Amelia Ellen Little on 10 April 1828 in Morgan County, Kentucky. Ellen was born in 1808 in Kentucky. She died sometime after 1870, and is presumed to be buried in Wolfe County. Hezekiah and Ellen had eight children. The only one that much is known of is our ancestor and the first child.

Children of Hezekiah and Emily Little Terrill:

1.  John Henry Terrill b 22 January 1833 in Morgan County, Kentucky. John md Elizabeth "Betsy" Hollan in Breathitt County, Kentucky, 15 June 1859. John died 13 February 1907 in Wolfe County, Kentucky.

2.  Sarah Terrill, born in Morgan County, Kentucky. No more information.

3.  Angeline Terrill, born 1836 in Morgan County, Kentucky. No more information.

4.  Cynthia Ann Terrill, born 1838 in Morgan County, Kentucky. Cynthia md Amos Williams.

5.  Charles Terrill, born 1840 in Morgan County, Kentucky. Charles md Mahala Hollan. They had three children: Rebecca J., Martha A., and Lucinder A.

6.  James Lee Terrill, born 1844 in Morgan County, Kentucky. He md Lucinda Hollan. They had eight children: Andrew J., Josiah, Candice M., Mahala L. M., Charles C., Amanda J., Hannah Jane, and Rosaline Terrill.

7.  Hannah Jane Terrill, born 1845 in Morgan County, Kentucky. Hannah md William McQuinn about 1868.

8.  Rosaline Terrill, born 1846 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She md Kelson Hollan.

John Henry Terrill (No. 1 above) and Betsy Hollan lived their entire lives in Kentucky. Little is known of all but one of their nine children..

4.  Henry Harrison Terrill born 18 April 1866 in Lee City, Wolfe County, Kentucky. He married twice. His first wife is known only by her maiden name, Gevadon. He married 2. Lula Adell Freeman after 1897. Lula was born 4 February 1879 in Kentucky, and died 5 April 1942 in Bartow Georgia. Henry died 16 September 1933 after a brief stay in Florida. He returned to Kentucky and died shortly thereafter.

2. John Richmond Terrill born 4 Jul 1888 in Breathett County, Kentucky. John died 3 Apr 1949 in Inverness, Citrus Co., Florida. He was buried in the East View Cemetery, Adairsville, Bartow Co., Georgia.

3. Matilda Evaline Terrill born 22 Mar 1895 in Kentucky . She md Henry Graham. Matilda died 7 Jan 1969 in Lake City, Columbia Co., Florida, and is buried in the Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak, Suwannee Co., Florida.

4. Arnie Bell Terrill born 23 Mar 1897 in Kentucky . Arnie Bell married Wardie Tolson who was born 5 Dec 1896 . Arnie Bell died 7 October 1975 and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, in Perry, Taylor Co., Florida. She and Wardie had one known son, Wardie Tolson, Jr. bn 3 Nov 1923, d 28 Jun 1959.

1. Harry Ondy Terrill born 16 Apr 1905 Lee City,Wolfe,Kentucky. Harry married Mary Jo Cantrell who was born 8 Apr 1924 Bartow County, Georgia. Harry died 12 May 1993 in Marrietta, Cobb County, Georgia. Mary Jo died 25 April 1957 and is buried in the East View Cemetery, in Adairsville, Bartow Co., Georgia. Ondy is buried there also. Mary Jo and Ondy have five children: Opal Adell, Virgie LaFaye, Alma Jo, Brenda Lane, and Rufus Ondy Terrill.

2. Lou Virgie Terrill born 8 Jun 1906 Lee City,Wolfe,Kentucky. Virgie married Albert SIZEMORE born 9 Jul 1885. Virgie died 14 Mar 1989. Virgie and Albert had no children.

3. Raymond Stanley Terrill born 4 Apr 1908 in Kentucky. Raymone died 20 january 1988 in Adairsville, Bartow Co., Georgia.

4. William Logan Terrill born 12 Jul 1909 in Lee City, Wolfe County, Kentucky. He died 28 Sep 1985 in Whitesburg, Letcher Co., Kentucky.

5. Rooney Thelma Terrill born 15 May 1912 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and died 19 Oct 1935 in Lamont, Jefferson Co., Florida and is buried in the Walker Family Cemetery, in Madison Co., Florida . She had a daughter, Pauline Terrill.

6. Finley Walter Terrill born 28 May 1915 Lee City, Wolfe County, Kentucky. Finley married Louvenia Elizabeth Goodman who was born 1 Sep 1917 in Shady Grove, Madison County, Florida. Finley and Louvenia are the parents of Elizabeth Terrell Barker. They had three other children, all living except the oldest, Harry Thomas Terrell born 24 Jun 1939 in Shady Grove, Taylor County, Florida, died 18 Nov 1948. The other two were William David, and Richard Allen Terrell. (note) The spelling of the last name with an "e" instead of an "i" was due to a clerical error in the marriage license office of the court house. Finley and Louvenia were divorced and Finley md. Ethel Virginia Campbell on 25 March 1950. They have four children: Rose Marie, Virginia Kaye, Debra Janice, and Finley Dale Terrill. Finley died 12 Jan 1994, in Madison Co., Florida, and is buried in the Walker Family Cemetery, at Lamont, Madison Co., Florida.

7. Mary Rose Terrill born 18 Aug 1917 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. She married Ike Hutto.

8. Josephine Terrill born 16 Oct 1919 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. Josephine married Buford Edwin Harris born 20 Sep 1920 in Cartersville, Bartow County,Georgia. Josephine and Buford have six children: Edwin Buford, Rose Marie, Randal Joe, Phillip Wayne, Gary Pete, and Ronald Ricky Harris. Much of the information on the Terrill family came from the research conducted by Ricky harris.


GOODMAN:

David Goodman is first located in Bulloch County, Georgia, having released 100 acres of land in Effingham Co., which is directly east of Bulloch County. This was done on June 6, 1788. Little is known of the origins of this, our oldest known Goodman. His wife was Jane _______, according to the will left by David at his death about 1820. He did list his children and one grandchild in this document. The known children of David and Jane Goodman were:

1. David Goodman, Jr., who died in 1817, about three years prior to his father. David md Sarah Cone, dau of Aaron and Hannah Cone, of Bulloch County, Georgia. David and Sarah had one child, John Goodman bn 1816. He md. Agnes Groover on Oct 1838, in Bulloch Co., Georgia. John and Agnes had the following children: 1. Sarah, 2. Julia, 3. Mary .

2. Jesse Goodman bn about 1787 in Georgia or S. Carolina. Jesse md Zilpha Wise, dau of William Wise and Sarah Margaret Denmark. Zilpha was bn about 1793 in Barnwell District, South Carolina. Jesse was a minister of the Gospel and after his migration into Florida in about 1835, served as the first pastor of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Jefferson County, Florida, was a charter member of Montecello Baptist Church, and pastored Indian Springs Church. Jesse was ministering at the Miccossukee Baptist Church, Leon Co., Florida , when he died on 19 Apr 1844. His children are listed after his siblings.

3. Henry Goodman md Nancey Nelson on 25 June 1809 in Bulloch Co., Georgia. Nothing more is known about Henry and Nancey.

4. William Goodman. Never married, migrated into Florida about the same time as his brother, Jesse. William left a will which was probated on January 28, 1849 after his death in Jefferson Co., Florida.

5. Elizabeth Goodman md Samuel Slater on 12 March 1812, in Bulloch Co., Georgia. Samuel and Elizabeth had ten children: 1. Robert B., 2. Martha, 3. Eliza, 4. William, 5. Sarah who md Amos V. Waters on November 10 1846, 6. Green R., 7. Margaret Frances, 8. Harriett E. M., 9. Jane Elizabeth and 10. John G. Slater.

6. Frances Goodman about whom nothing more is known.

The Children of Jesse and Zilpha Wise Goodman:

1. William W. Goodman bn about 1812 in Georgia. William md Elizabeth Sanders on 7 October 1835 in Jefferson Co., Florida. They had four children, 1. Louisa bn 1836, 2. George W. bn 1838, 3. Nathan P. bn 1840, 4. William W. (Jr?) bn 1842. All the children were born in Florida.

2. Henry E. Goodman, bn May 12, 1814, in Bulloch Co., Georgia. Henry md Elizabeth Spain on 19 January 1837 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  Henry died August14, 1883 and is buried in the Fellowship Cemetery, Shady Grove, Florida.  Shady Grove is just north of Perry, Florida in Taylor Co. Elizabeth is known to have lived until after 1880, but her final resting place has not been located, presumed to be in the same cemetery with her husband.  Henry and Elizabeth had six chilldren who will be listed after his brothers and sisters.

3. Mahalia Goodman, bn about 1817, in Bulloch Co., Georgia.  She md Andrew J. Whitehurst on April 3, 1834 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  Andrew was born in Tattnall Co., Georgia about 1817, a son of Hillary and Nancy Goodman Whitehurst.  No relationship is known between Nancy Whitehurst and Jesse Goodman.  Mahalia and Andrew had seven children: (a.). William bn 1835, (b.). Pamelia bn 1837, (c.) Mary bn 1839, (d.) Jessee bn 1841, (e.) Burrell bn 1843, (f.) Martin bn 1845, (g.) Martha bn 1848.

4. David B. Goodman, bn about 1820 in Georgia, md Elizabeth Lightsey on 8 December 1837 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  Elizabeth may have died very early as she isn't listed on any census records.  In the 1850 Census, David is living with a woman, age 30, named "Nancy".  This may be Elizabeth's other given name, or a second wife.  However no second marriage was found for David.  There were seven children born in this home, presumably to one mother. (a.) Harriet bn about 1842; (b.) Thomas A., bn about 1844; (c.) Ann bn about 1845; (d.) William C. bn about 1847; (e.) Nancy, bn about 1848; (f.) George bn about 1850; (g.) Stephen bn about 1852.

5. Malachi Goodman, bn about 1821 in Georgia, md Nancy Anderson on 10 May 1844 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  Nancy was bn about 1821 also and in Georgia.  Malachi and Nancy had three children; Susan A. bn about 1846; Lusana bn about 1847 and Elsy bn about 1849.  All the children were bn in Florida.

6. Robert M. Goodman bn about 1824 in Georgia, md Sarah Ramsay on 24 November 1841 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  Sarah was born in Georgia.  She and Robert had two children: Sydney and Christia Ann.  Sydney was bn about 1842 and Christia Ann about 1844.

7. Elizabeth Goodman bn about 1827 in Georgia, md William V. Ramsay on 11 July 1842 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  William was born about  1815 in North Carolina.  William and Elizabeth had three children: George W., bn about 1843;  Caroline, bn about 1846; Nancy, bn about 1849.  All the children were bn in Florida.

8. Mary Goodman, bn about 1829 in Georgia, md William Arnold on 13 April 1848 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  William was bn about 1815 in South Carolina and they had one child, Elizabeth, bn about 1868 in Florida.

9. Caroline Goodman, bn about 1830 in Georgia, md David Walker on 17 June 1848 in Jefferson Co., Florida.  David was born abut 1864 in South Carolina.  They had three children: Sarah E., bn about 1845; Stephen I., bn about 1846;  William H., bn about 1850.

10. Rebecca Goodman, bn about 1830 in Georgia, md William A. Jacobs in Leon Co., Florida on 13 May 1851.  It is not known if they had children.

11. Jasper A. Goodman, bn about 1833 in Jefferson Co., Florida and died before 1856.  Jasper never married.
