Heidi's First Babies
Meet Annie!
She was my sweet, spoiled, beautiful girl!
This lady was the absolute love of my life!
She was 20 years old, nearing 21 when these pictures were taken.
She stood about 15.2 hands high.
She's a 3/4 American Saddle Horse and 1/4 Tennesse Walker.
She was in my life for about five years, and I would never have traded a moment of it.
She was my first horse.
She taught me a lot of what I know, and we trained each other well!
Together, we were a true team!
We rode in two parades, and in this picture, are in outfit.
Annie did beautifully both times.
Never missed a step, and seemed to think she was the queen of it all :-)
She was my lady.
Miss Annie had a personality all her own.
She could be very nasty tempered, didn't like attention, no petting, no hugs, no kisses, unless she gave you permission!
Most people didn't like to be around her because of that.
And there were times she'd sooner bite you then look at you!
But, you had to take her as she was.
And I loved her for her moods!
Even her bad moods!
I'm afraid I had her very spoiled rotten.
I catered to her every whim, and let her get away with murder.
But even so, we got along perfectly, and we performed beautifully together.
She knew and understood the difference between work and play, and adjusted accordingly to my signals.
Though she could be nasty when she wanted, she was also sweet and loving when the mood fit her.
She was the one constant in my life.
Always there, never changing.
She was one thing I could count on, and did, everyday.
This is her, and her pasture mate and son, Tory.
His sire was purebred Walker.
He was a sweetheart.
A total opposite from his mother, he loved attention, hugs, kisses, and was just a glutton for love!
He would stand for hours as long as you scratched his head and ears!
He wasn't too great a riding horse, had hoof problems, and therefore was basically a big pet.
I called him my 1,200 pound puppy dog :-)
Because, that's just what he basically was, a puppy dog :-)
He'd follow me anywhere he could!
He's a big boy, standing at about 16.2 hands.
I had to really look up to this guy!
Being tall for him, wasn't a plus though.
He figured out that by leaning against the split rail fence, the rails will gradually crash to the ground under his weight!
And he also figured out that once the top two rails are down, he could merely step over the fence, to the greener grass on the other side.
He did this regularly, almost every night!
Haha! It became like a game to him :-)
He was willing and eager, unless you placed a saddle on his back.
Then he turned into a totally different horse!
He got off easy with the excercise due to his hooves.
But he was still my baby :-)
And now, you have met my first sweethearts!
I hope you enjoyed your visit, learning about my two special beauties, and seeing their pictures.
I think they're both beautiful, don't you?
They were my pride and joy!
And all that made my life worthwhile before I moved to Georgia and had to leave them.
They helped me to understand the true meaning of love and life.
And they helped me to learn what I want from life...only and always to work with and be around horses.
That is my dream, and my goal.
Thank you for visiting!
Please leave your hoofprint in our guestbook before leaving my pages!
Always,
~Heidi, Annie, and Tory~
