A dream night of celebration was a fitting end to a dream season for 1998 NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon, who was honored in grand fashion Friday night at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel's Grand Ballroom in New York. For the three-time champ, 1998 stands as a career year no matter how it's analyzed. Friday night, Gordon got to reap the benefits of his labors with both praise and $5 million in bonus money. The black-tie affair was the climax of a long week of business, social and media events for Gordon. He appeared on national television broadcasts, sat for photo shoots and was interviewed again and again. Follow his tour of the Big Apple in our special Champion's Diary. Gordon also took time to answer a few questions from his fans this week. Gordon, who has set the standard for live chats on NASCAR Online, did so once again Thursday. More than 1,200 guests asked over 2,000 questions during Gordon's half-hour session. Check out the transcript.
