Brooke
never
was
a big
race
fan,
as a
matter
of fact,
if it
had
not
been
for
a friend
suggesting
to Brooke
she
interview
for
the
Miss
Winston,
she
would
have
never
met
Jeff.The
first
time
Brooke
ever
saw
a race
was
in 1992
at the
Twin
qualifying
race
at Charlotte,
Which
of course
Jeff
won.
Jeff
had
seen
her
picture
and
tryed
to call
her
many
times,
her
beening
Miss
Winston
and
him
a driver
dateing
was
not
allowed.
They
finally
met
on Valentine's
Day
in 1992
before
the
Charlotte
race.
She
gave
him
some
heart
shaped
candy
for
good
luck.
Later
she
gave
him
the
trophy
for
winning
the
race.
That
day
turned
into
a romance
that
had
to be
kept
secret.
If anything
happened,
they
both
agreed
they
would
stop
dating
until
her
year
was
up as
Miss
Winston.
One
day
the
two
were
about
to board
a plane
when
Darrell
Waltrip's
team
arrived
at the
gate.
Brooke
had
to sneek
away
and
get
another
flight.
At the
Nascar
Awards
Banquet
that
December
Jeff
& Brooke
revealed
their
love
for
each
other,
as her
days
as Miss
Winston
was
over
at the
end
of race
season.That
following
February,
a year
to the
day
from
when
they
first
met,
Jeff
asked
Brooke
to marry
him.
Some
people
say
he asked
her
at a
French
restaurant
and
Brooke
said
yes
instantly.They
were
married
on the
26th
of November,
1994,
in Charlotte.
The
ceremony
included
a Founders
Hall
reception,
a seventeen
foot
high
wedding
cake,
and
there
picture
on the
cover
of the
Carolina
Brides
magazine.They
bought
a house
on Lake
Norman
in the
outskirts
of Charlotte.
They
have
only
been
apart
a few
days
since
they
have
been
married
because
Brooke
travels
everywhere
with
Jeff.
They
have
a four
bedroom
mansion
in North
Carolina,
and
home
in Indiana
they
have
a 45ft
motor
home
that's
at every
race,
a 29ft
speedboat,
a red
XK-8
Jaguar,
and
a 20
million
dollar
Lear
jet
that
takes
them
from
track
to track
( and
anywhere
else
they
want
to go
).
