The Holy Family Parish is the oldest church west of the Allegheny Mountains. The structure of the church is French vertical timber structure. The logs are placed vertical to the ground and filled in with clay and rocks. The logs are placed into the dirt, slotted into a log sill or a log sill put on a sill of rocks and then the logs are slotted into the log sill.
