Merry    Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.... How many of us remember hearing that story when we were kids? I do.. I remember my mom reading that story to me and my sister on Christmas eve... I can't believe that it's actually been that long ago... I remember watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.. How the Grinch Stole Christmas and all of those Christmas stories on TV... And still to this day, I sit and watch them... My son likes them too... and all of the Christmas videos that they have out now... As a child... it wasn't just the presents... although that was great... it was just all the festivities of the holidays... the lights especially... we used to drive through Candy Cane Lane in San Diego, CA.. and I'm not even sure if they still have that or not... would be kind of sad if they didn't... next were the cookies... my mom used to bake so many each Christmas... that is one tradition I seemed to have picked up.. there's nothing like fresh baked cookies... and the joy that I get when I make them.. although in our household... Peanut Butter cookies never last long.. I always have to make a double batch.. *S* Do you remember waking up early Christmas morning and getting your parents up out of bed to open presents? One year my sister and I got up around 4 in the morning and we didn't wake our parents up... knowing that it was WAY too early... instead we started unwrapping our presents with out them there.. and actually thinking that we were sneaking to do so.. until.. all of a sudden.. a house slipper came flying out of the bedroom at us... Dad's way of telling us to stop and for us to go back to bed NOW.. Thank you for letting me share a little of my childhood with you... And hopefully it brought back some wonderful memories of your favorite things to do at Christmas and if you have children.. maybe you can share some of those things with them... and make some new memories along the way... Until then... HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
