"All this talk of missing babies and truant mothers is depressing." you whisper to Icicle. She smiles.
"This is true. Would you like to hear some of our success stories?" You nod eagerly. "Okay, follow me!" Icicle leads you to an island connected to the Island of Mothers and Babies by a colorful bridge. "This is the Island of Reunited Mothers and Babies. Here is where mothers and their babies move after one of our scouts brings them together again."
Icicle guides you to the first house on the path. A pink earth pony with a pink mane and tail and white dots as her symbol is standing outside. A miniature version of this pony dances around her feet.
"Good day, Icicle," the older pony says politely. She nods to you as well. "Still hard at work giving tours, eh?" Icicle smiles and bobs her head. "This is Cotton Candy and her daughter, Baby Cotton Candy. Neither of them stay here all the time, but all the ponies from this island seem to know when I'm coming with a guest, so you may see them again in other areas." Cotton Candy smiles. You ask how long they had been apart before someone brought them together again. The pink pony's smile broadens.
"We came here to the Pony Islands together. We've never been apart!" Her daughter bounces up and down and cries, "NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!"
Icicle says, "You were very fortunate, Cotton Candy. One of our other success stories took a lot longer to get together." The older pony nods somberly as her baby frolics wildly in the grass.
"Well, speaking of our other successes!" Cotton Candy is looking over your head. You turn and follow her gaze.
The ponies who are flying in are both yellow pegasi with yellow manes and tails and hot air balloons as their symbols. The larger version is guiding her daughter carefully while the younger one wobbles unsteadily in the air. Suddenly, a gust of wind catches her off balance and the little pony tumbles from the air. Her mother whinnies and swoops down to catch her and sets her safely on the ground.
"I'm Lofty and this is my daughter, Baby Lofty," the pegasis says as her lands beside her offspring. "She came here a long time before I did, so I have several years of flying lessons to catch up on." Baby Lofty stands up and flaps her wings bravely.
A soft sound startles you at your elbow. You look over your shoulder and are surprised to see two purple earth ponies, one with purple hair, the other with white.
"Hello," the adult says softly. "I'm Blossom.
"I'm Baby Blossom," adds the white haired baby.
"These two are both very shy and soft spoken," Icicle says. "They came about a week apart, so they weren't separated very long." Icicle glances around. "Has anyone seen the Lickety-Splits?"
There is a startling whoop as two lavender earth ponies charge in from over a small hill. They are identical in every way, both with light pink hair and ice cream cones as their symbols. The smaller pony speaks first: "Me Baby Lickety-Split! My mommy just got here!
The older pony grins non-stop. "Yeah, I just came in this week and my daughter has had me on the run ever since." The pair chase each other in a circle and Mama Lickety-Split corners her baby against a tree and tickles her into a frenzy.
"The rowdiest ponies we've reunited yet," Icicle whispers to you with a grin. "Next, if they feel like showing up, are Mama and Baby Glory." Right on cue, two white unicorns wink into the clearing. The mother has dark purple hair with a lighter turquious streak running through it. The baby's mane and tail are lighter. Their symbol is a star with a purple tail. "Glory just came in with Lickety-Split, but Baby Glory has been here longer than Baby Lickety-Split. She was the first baby pony to join our herd and was originally adopted by Majesty. When Majesty became queen, she handed Baby Glory off to the orphanage. She was a REAL hoof-ful, even worse than Baby Surprise." The baby unicorn blushes.
"Nobody's as bad as Baby Surprise," Baby Glory whispers.
A little blue earth pony wanders in, a happy little grin on her face. She looks oddly out of place in the reunited area, without her mother. Her hair is white with a magenta stripe and her symbol is two purple poodles. You're about to comment on her when a blue unicorn winks in. The unicorn has the same coloring and symbol as the little earth pony. "Fifi and Baby Fifi," Icicle explains with a smile. "Baby Fifi takes after her father, so she's an earth pony, rather than a unicorn."
Two yellow pegasi with blue hair appear around the corner of Cotton Candy's hut. Their symbol is a beach ball and the little one has trouble holding still...come to think of it, so does her mother! Both of them are hopping up and down, grinning like crazy. "If you haven't figured it out yet," the older of the pair beams, "We're Bouncy and Baby Bouncy. Nice ta meecha!"
Then, a wild whinny shatters the air and two pink pegasi swoop in to land amoung the gathering of ponies. Both have electric blue hair and lightening bolts as their symbols. "Hi!" the mother cheers. "I'm Firefly, the Royal Messanger and I speak for myself." She grins jokingly at Icicle. "You know I'm kidding, 'Cicle"
Icicle clears her throat and announces, "We've got one more reunited pair to introduce, but I'm not sure where they are."
"We're here, Icicle," announces a voice like rain drops on a pond. You turn in time to see another white unicorn wink in. Her mane is a deep shade of red with a light purple stripe running through it. Her symbol is a crescent moon surrounded by silver stars. Her daughter winks in soon after her. The baby's mane and tail are a lighter shade of pink than her mother's and there are fewer stars in her symbol.
"This is Moondancer and Baby Moondancer," Icicle smiles. "They arrived about two weeks apart and have been inseperable ever since, just like all of the reunited families."
"Well, that's it. We're getting more families together as regularly as we can, so you can check back to see them later."
