MISC. NOTES ON THE DONNA, FOOCKLE, NIEDERMYER and LINDENMEYER FAMILIES

1. It is unclear the maiden name of John FOOCKLE's wife thus far. We believe it to be LINDENMYER or LINDENMEYER. We were also told it could be NETHERMIER (not sure of the spelling there). UPDATE 8/13/2003: I have obtained the birth certificate for my grandmother, Emma FOOCKLE. Her mother is listed as Margaret NIEDERMYER.

2. My father (Margaret's grandson) remembers her speaking German. She passed away when he was a very young boy.

3. Peter DONNA and Emma Luise FOOCKLE's children, Peter Jr., Arthur, and Christina all died of Diptheria as children within weeks of each other.

4. I believe from oral family history that John FOOCKLE had passed away around 1926 or before.

5. Who were the two brothers of Emma L. (FOOCKLE)DONNA who preceded her in death? (See obit. under FOOCKLE). The grandchild was probably Gladys MEYER, daughter of Edwin and Dorothy (DONNA) MEYER.

LINDENMEYER

CITY DIRECTORY INFORMATION

UPDATE: NOTE: I do not know of any of my great grandmother's family names except hers, Margaret. I have found Margaret's maiden name is NOT LINDENMEYER but actually NIEDERMYER. She was born in Peru, LaSalle County, IL in 1872. She is listed as being of German nationality. I will keep the LINDENMEYER data here for those of you that might be doing LINDENMEYER research. However, it turns out this surname IS NOT related to my line.

FOOCKLE/FOOCKER

*NOTE: In the 1894 City Directory, my direct ancestor's name is spelled as "FOOCKER". It is the only time thus far seen as such. Perhaps it was changed from FOOCKER to FOOCKLE? UPDATE: On Emma Luise FOOCKLE's birth certificate, the original spelling was actually FUCKEL. Also, despite the city directory having the letter "M" as my grandmother Emma's middle initial, I have obtained her birth certificate and her middle name is actually Luise, spelled just like that.
Those known to be actual family members to me will have an *...others are probably also related but unknown at this point to be.
