The   hardest   times!!!

Could act under the lights and receive applauses from the public was the big dream of Nick, brian, Howie, A.J. and Kevin. But destiny passed all their plans and push them to a world of fame and success that they even could imagine... But not everything was a question of lucky, things didn't happened ocasionaly. After 4 years of work and sacrifice, the Backstreet Boys become the big pop music stars. Now, more than ever, the guys from Orlando like to remember the big and little times they shared together. The nerves, the fears, the tension, the tears, the smiles, the hugs, the looks... Each emotion that they shared on their way to success. They will never forget them and we, that support them since the beginning, can't also forget them.

FROM DOOR TO DOOR

The beginnings are always hard and for the Backstreet Boys things weren't different. After the group had formed it was very important to find a manager and was then that the nightmare started! From office to office, they handled the hard looks, ironic words and, sometimes, critics unfair. Howie, that recognizes that he was the most nervous, remember that time: "it was very hard. The most of them compared us to the New Kids On The Block and told us that we didn't had nothing new to offer. But, that's how music's world works and we already knew that it wouldn't be that easy". We're sure that now, all the ones that didn't believe in them are putting their heads against the wall, while Donna and Johnny Wright, the managers that decided to support them, are celebrating with them the big success they have.

TO MUCH HURRIES AND HURRIES

The next step was the tournées. Any fo them, except Kevin, was accustomed to spend many time away from home and the first trips of the group were a little hard. A.J. explain us what was happening at the time: "When you go on trip, there are always things that fail. Now we do all easily, but in the beginning we were almost driving crazy. What happens when you have a concert in England, and your pack is in Bombaim? When one of this things happened to me for the first time, I got crazy. In that moments I felt happy for my mother to be there next to me. She went to shopping and in 2 hours we had new clothes". But, to Brian and Howie the problems didn't end in there: longing was always a very hard thing to pass. Only the big friendship that joined them since the beginning make all possible for them to go 'till the end of the world with the Backstreet Boys.

A DIFFERENT LIFE

They knew it since the beginning, but in the same way they left their world and their normal lives and that wasn't easy. Kevin and A.J. was the end of their love stories because of a career and besides they had already passed that problem, at that time was a very difficult thing. Everyone had to leave what they had behind, their friends, their projects... They risked everything... and they won!

Unique   emotions!!!

GUYS "MADE IN U.S.A."

The Backstreet Boys feel very proud of their country, and for that, when they were chosen to sing the national hymn of the United States of America in the National Football Championships they felt the most lucky guys in the world. They sang in live in front of thousands of people that were seing them through the T.V.. When they remember that moment they still have creepies: "We only could hear our voices. People were standing, hearing us. We were so nervous, but everything went right and was a glorious moment", explain Kevin.

TEARS OF FAME

Winning a golden record is the first step to success and, when they won the first, Brian and Kevin cryed with emotion. Denie, A.J.'s mother was who told us how everything happened: "They are the most sentitive of the group and, during the party that we made to celebrate the first gold record the group won, some little tears run through their faces. I had never seen them like that and so happy. Truly, I'll never forget that night".

WINNING AT HOME

Entering in the U.S.A. tops is the dream of every artist. When "Anywhere For You" entered to the 21st position, the Backstreet Boys couldn't believe it: they made what many people after many years of work weren't be able to do! "Our manager, Donna, called us from the U.S.A. to tell us the new. The first thing that we did was hug one each ther and laugh", tell us Nick.

BETWEEN THE BEST

The MTV awards, are one of Europe awards most supported. Groups like Oasis, Blur, Take That or Spice Girls saw they effect in being selected by the MTV as the Best Group Of The Year. But only the fact of being selected to some category is already a fact of proud. The Backstreet Boys got crazy when their video "Get Down" was considered The Best Video Of 1996. But the best of all was winning the prix! That night was incredible. The guys from Orlando, not only showed us their new look, but they also showed to all world that they were already between the best. They were the first ones to get crazy: "I couldn't believe. Were there Fugees, Spice Girls, George Michael and... us! Winning that prix fill us with proud because that means that we were recognized in all world", told A.J.

FIVE GOLDEN GUYS

After a little time of recording their frist album, when they weren't already famous, the group manager decided to give them a very special present. He wanted to show them that he trusted in them and they could get to where they wanted. As proove of his support and also as a prix of work to hard, he offered to each one of them a golden chain with the BSB inicials. Today they still agree that is the most valious jewel they have. "It means much to me. It's like an amulet because since our manager gave it to us everything went go", tell us Howie.

LIKE A MOVIE

Everybody, unless Kevin and Brian, had already experience in front of a camera. Anyway, when they filmed the first video in the beaches of Florida they were very nervous. "When you film a video you have to make it seriouly", says Howie. The day they filmed "Anywhere For You" is in their memories, because is was a definiive step to their career, as their last video of "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)". Takes much more than a normal video and they make it almost like a movie. Were the "Boys" that decided how to film the video: "We wanted to do a different and radical video. At the beginning, we all had an idea: our bus brook and we had to rest in a castle. Is there that one of one fall asleep and has a bad dream", tell us A.J.. Truly the video is great: Nick is a mumy, A.J. is the Ophera Ghost, Howie is the dracula, Kevin is Mr. Hide and Brian is the wolf. We were filming almost 3 days and before each take they had to be in 5 hours of make up. Meanwhile, it worth it. The result it's great. It will be very difficul to superate this.

Don't   forget   all   phrases   that   Backstreet   Boys   said   and   that   touched   us   deeply      it's   almost   impossible.   But   there   is   words   said   by   Nick,   Brian,   A.J.,   Howie   and   kevin   that   we   can't   never   forget.

LOVE

NICK: "I'm virgin because I haven't found my true love". BRIAN: "I don't believe in love at first sight. I have to know pretty well a girl because I fall in love". A.J.: "If I see a girl that I like, I'm capable of doing crazy things just to meet her". HOWIE: "In the day I'll meet my life's girl, I'll know it immediatly. I believe in love at first sight!". KEVIN: "I have already dated with somebody, but it was a mistake".

GIRLS

NICK: "Before, the girls didn't care about me. They thought I kind of weird". BRIAN: "What catch me first on girls are their eyes". A.J.: "They the most wonderfull thing in all world". HOWIE: "I like to be pretty for them". KEVIN: "we are not proibited to fall in love, but from taking girls to our rooms".

EUROPE

NICK: "The european fans are the most paxionated". BRIAN: "The european girls are beautiful and they have a little charm". A.J.: "We have always been welcome and very loved by the girls". HOWIE: "Europe has beautiful countries where I feel at home". KEVIN: "From Europe I like all: food, sun, people. If I could I would spent here some time".

FAMILY

NICK: "My brother Aaron is my proud. I love him". BRIAN: "I miss I haven't had sisters. In my family there are only men". A.J.: "Everything I have I own to my mother. For me, she is the most important person in all world". HOWIE: "My family teached me to work hard and respect the others". KEVIN: "To my father I dedic all mu success. I'm sure that, where he is, he is proud of me".

FRIENDSHIP

NICK: "I had never had true friends till I got in the group". BRIAN: "I'm incapable of steal my friend's girlfriend". A.J.: "We are much more than just simple friends, we are all like brothers". HOWIE: "My friends from Orlando don't believe in what is happening to me". KEVIN: "In this moment, the only thing I look in a girl is friendship. I don't have time for nothing more!".

LOOK

NICK: "I will never undress myself in front of a camera, even for a bunch of money". BRIAN: "I don't care much about fashion. I just about feeling good". A.J.: "i love to look weird and different". HOWIE: "I don't to show my body... only the up part, of course!". KEVIN: "I make a lot of gymnastic to keep my body and muscles good".

MUSIC

NICK: "I can't live without music". BRIAN: "A concert is a great experience". A.J.: "Love is the universal language, and music is the love's language". HOWIE: "Music is paxion!". KEVIN: "It's my life".

FUTURE

NICK: "I'll never leave the group". BRIAN: "I wanna have many kids". A.J.: "Do what to do, I'll be always on show bussiness". HOWIE: "I only I'm afraid to stay bald". KEVIN: "I wanna get marry and live in a farm. Now I only think about the Backstreet Boys".
