"Star, are ya coming?" my best friend Jenny asked as we were at our lockers. "Huh? What? I was thinking about something else." I said snapping back to reality. "I asked you if you were going to come with us to the movies tonight?" she said, not looking happy that I had completely ignored her. I had so much on my mind lately. With cheerleading and student council meetings all week, I never had time for anything else. Not even a relationship with a boy. "Yes, after cheerleading practice, I can come. By the way, what time is it?" I asked. "Um...after 3." she said. "Oh my God!! I'm late for practice!!! Gotta Jet!!" I said running down the hall to the gym. I did'nt want to be late for any more practices than I had already been. Too many tardy's to practice, could get me kicked off the squad.
My name is Star Light (don't ask),I'm 5"5 with blue eyes, and long brown hair and 130 pounds. My parents decided to name me that, because I was conceived under the star light. I'm 17 years old. I'm a Sophmore in high school with a GPA of 4.0, yes I'm pretty smart. I live in a town called Ruskin, Florida. I have a best friend, Jenny. She is a Sophmore too, but she is like three months older than me. She is on Student Council, just like me. Her boyfriend Kevin Scott Richarson is a Senior, and is trying to pursue a signing career with 3 other boys. Ok, there was Nick Carter, a 16 year old that just loved to play pranks on everyone he knew (even me), and always got on everyone's nerves! Unlike Nick, Howie on the other hand was sweet, and a kidder too. That's why we called him Sweet D. Brian Littrell is the basketball star of the group. He's been playing for a couple of years. Brian sings in the church choir just right across the street from my house. And last but not least there is Kevin, Jenny's boyfriend. He has the right body for football, and he is Brian's cousin. To me, all the boys are just friends. We hang out and goof around, whenever I'm not busy alot. I've been a cheerleader for two years now, and have been on Student Council for a year and a half. I study alot, and don't have much time for guys or dating period. But lately, I've been very lonely, like my whole world has been missing something in my life. I just did'nt know what it was.
Oh God, I'm going to be late!! I thought running down the hall to the gym. "Hey Star, where ya going?" Brian called to me from behind. I turned my head still running. "I can't talk now, I've got to go to cheerleading practice!" I said. As I turned my head, I ran into someone. I was knocked down to the ground. "Hey!! Watch out where you are going girlie!!" a guy shouted at me. I looked up to see this guy wearing a leather jacket, muscular, with two hooped earings in each ear. He looked about 17 or 18 years of age, and about 5"9 in height, and I could'nt see his eyes because of his sunglasses. All I could do was stare at him. He looked like a bad boy or something. "Well, don't just sit there and stare at me, get your ass up and outta of my way!!" he shouted at me. All of my books and papers were everywhere!! I started picking them up. I felt like crying, how dare this person that I don't know was yelling at me like I was a kid. I finally stood up and said. "You know you don't have to be so damn rude, but just in case I'm wrong about you. I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going!!" I shouted back. His mouth just dropped and I took off running towards the gym so I would'nt be late for practice.
