Nikolas Cassadine on the ABC Television Network's "General Hospital"

On the tenuous cusp between boyhood and becoming a man, Nikolas Cassadine stares unblinkingly at his future. Raised in shadows and secrecy by his uncle Stefan, Nikolas has finally come face to face with his mother-- and a history that he's only now beginning to understand. The role of Nikolas has rich acting possibilities for which Tyler received notice from TV GUIDE, "Played by a startlingly good, fresh-off-the-bus newcomer Tyler Christopher... One of the finest young actors of '96." Tyler received the Outstanding Male Newcomer trophy at this year's nationally broadcast Soap Opera Awards. His first "GH" airdate was July 15, 1996.

"Nikolas has heard about his mother, Laura Spencer, all his life," explains the actor of his character, "but nothing prepared him for meeting her, Luke and their own two kids. It's a lot for a teenager to handle." And having scenes with the most famous couple in daytime television is plenty for a young actor to handle. The 1981 wedding of Luke and Laura Spencer (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) remains the most-watched event in daytime television history.

Born and raised in America's heartland, Tyler Christopher grew up in Delaware, Ohio, the youngest of four children. Following graduation from Delaware Hayes High School, Tyler attended Ohio Wesleyan University for two years before following the call to California and a hopeful acting career. Although that effort proved to be a false start, Tyler returned to Hollywood in 1995 and set his sights in earnest, working as a bartender and waiter while doing the requisite rounds of auditions. Several television guest shots, and a part in the independent feature film "Common Bonds," resulted before being cast on ABC Daytime's longest-running drama.

Getting acclimated to his new job and extended television family keeps Tyler busy. However he makes time to work out regularly and enjoys traveling. He is single and lives in Los Angeles, California.
