The day approaches..

One thing Pike learned that day was that he really disliked the smell of wet moogle. He shifted in the chair that he was resting in and watched the drenched fuzzball dry himself off. (Though he looked more like a mop than anything else.)

"So, Mug, did your little tango on the rooftop work?" Pike asked, turning his attention back to the mug of beer on the table in front of him.

Mog quickly turned around and yelled "IT'S MOG, YOU KUPPOPING FISH HEAD!!!! And the storms breaking! Thank kupo that I was able to stop it!"

"Tsk, tsk, such rudeness! If it wasn't for me, you would still be languishing out at that tower, you know." Pike said as he downed another drink. He looked out the window at the evening sky. "I don't know what you are planning to do, little fellow, but I'm heading to Coursair tomorrow morning."

Mog looked in the mirror he was standing in front of, and sighed, "Lemme guess, if I want to go, I better think of a way to pay up, RIGHT?!"

Pike responded, "Well, since your last performance got rained out, I'll think of something you can do to repay me later." He looked out the window again, "Looks like it IS starting to clear up out there! Thought the whole island was going to be flooded out! Did you ever see such a tempest?"

Mog sighed again, as he knew that Pike WILL think of something. He started thinking what that yeti was doing. After all, with Sabin there, they must have thought of something.

The yeti was busy snoring. Rather loudly, in fact. So loud that Edger and everyone else had to go to the basement so they can hear themselves think. After debating for five hours about what the 'egg' was, it was finally decided that it was a transporter of some sort. This was concluded after several pieces of fruit, a large couch, and a live chicken were used for experiments. After fiddling around with more of the settings, they managed to retrieve the now very exasperated chicken, the couch, and some of the fruit back. The chicken was sitting, wide-eyed, on the couch, while a bracelet was discovered by one of the apples. (A rather haggled Spoo had seen the apple appear, went to examine it, and was almost flattened by the couch and chicken combo. The bracelet fell off during her mad dash back into the safety of Sky Tower.)

So after more bickering and yelling, it was decided that Sabin, Gau, and Terra would try the portal out. Umaro was declared too great a hassle to put up with, and Edger would round up Setzer and Shadow in case they took too long.

Kefka's new found ally wandered the streets of Windia, a bit befuddled. After his encounter with the apparition and the 'egg', Vargas was transported to just outside an inn on a small island. After being told by the voice to enter the building, Vargas entered only to meet Kefka. After a few words, blows, and flying furniture were exchanged, Kefka managed to calm the enraged martial artist down and explained the way to 'ultimate power'. After deciding that this power would indeed help render Sabin Figaro dead, Dead, DEAD, DEEEEAAAAAAD, Vargas accepted.

As Kefka warped Vargas to Windia, (in the time since coming here, Kefka managed to modify a few spells to work correctly, but he still wasn't at full power.) he thought to himself that Vargas was the perfect lackey: big, strong, and so obsessed with killing Figaro that he'll stoop to any length. After he serves his purpose of finding out whether the rumor about the magic tower at Windian Castle was true, Vargas can have his little wish of removing his enemy from existance. Then Kefka could remove Vargas. Kefka knew that someone else was messing with one of the Gate Keys that he left behind. And he knew that sooner or later, those goody-goodies would be here. So why not have a big show and kill everyone at once? He sat down and grabbed a slice of bread. After offering some to the now rather bad smelling corpses laying on the floor by table, (Vargas didn't care about the rotting bodies.) Kefka muttered about ungrateful they were to just lay there and not serve him. Then he smiled to himself, everything was going exactly according to plan. Nothing could interfere, not even those idiots back in the other world.

I liked this chapter so much, I'll try the second half!
Yeah.. right!
