Hi Frank,

I don't know the Heaven's Gate people personally, only what I've read or heard in the news.

However, my totally close encounter with a UFO occurred while I was at Pismo Beach, California, with a group of young gypsy like missionaries, camping out for about four days one February (1972), during the famous yearly Pismo Beach Clam Festival, with at least 100,000 visitors on the beach, in dune buggies, walking, clamming, strolling the dunes, fishing, enjoying themselves around town.

My partner and I went walking far down the beach and met two young soldiers under their lean-to. As my partner continued to talk with them, I strolled casually over to the surf. I started to watch as the sun was going down thinking that people only have so much time to receive the Light before it disappears. So I asked God to help me to show His Love to these soldiers. Just then, right after the sun set, an oval light flew up from the horizon on the Pacific Ocean from the point of sunset. It silently flew past me towards the beach, having two green rays of light pointing up like tv antenna rabbit ears from the top of the oval white light, about the height of a man. It stopped over the sand dunes. I wondered if it would go towards our two large army tents set up near the pier for our group of about two hundred young folks from around the state.

Suddenly, a very deep male voice spoke through me to the oval white light: "Come to Me"! (my own voice is a tenor). The Oval White Light proceeded at that command straight towards me, and as it came near to me, I leaned backwards in some amazement. It then flew right into my eyes!! My arms automatically raised upwards, and I started praising God outloud. (I don't know if anyone even noticed me, or the Oval White Light, and what had just happened. No one said a word to me about it.) Then I ran up to where my partner was still talking with the two young men. I uttered some Message very rapidly to them, with no remembrance of what I said to them. We then left them and walked back to our tents, telling my partner that I had just seen an "angel". When we arrived, I told my (younger than me) "older" brother shepherd that I had just seen an "angel". Lil' Andrew only told me notto tell anyone about it.

When I later told another older teacher member [named Joel] (no longer with the group) up in Burlington, Washington this same story, he supposed that I was possessed by a bad spirit, and he had me pray all over again to receive Jesus into my heart. Personally, I felt that it was an extraordinary, very exceptional, and unusually good experience, that I treasure highly. It was a one-of-a-kind close encounter with such an Oval Light that flys silently, and enters the human body with such energy, channelling Messages through yielded subjects, that no one else in all of human recorded history has had like it.
